The beginning of the end.... already!

I agree entirely with the OP As a responsible rider, only riding where bikes are allowed at a speed that dosent make me stand out. I get pe'd off when pilchards ride where they shouldn't in a totally irresponsible manner, thats all bikes not just pedelecs. As it's almost impossible to curb the...

    How to "fix" Brake Fade

Just a thought There's a lot of good advice related to constantly soft or spongy breaks but from what you have said I gather your breaks are good, then fade down long hills and recover once they've rested. To me this sounds like there overheating the fluid. When the fluid is hot enough it...

    A Statement from Bosch

OK so I've seen this "I want more speed" argument before and can fully see what you all are getting at for road use. As I see it, the big problem is a pedelec is allowed on shared use paths with all the associated hazards. We all say we ride sensibly but Unfortunately common sense isn't that...

    Cleats on. MTB

For a tenner I'd recomend neoprene fishing socks, after all those blokes stand around all day in freezing water :confused...

    Cleats on. MTB

Not so with my shoes alone but yes yes yes with neoprene socks. Back to cleats, unfortunatly my bad knees don't allow me to stand to pedal and to sensitive to risk a serious off so I'm never going to need cleats. That's just me though, plain worn out.

    First ride on new KTM

Nice ride and good to see some mud on it, that's what there built for after all.

    Cleats on. MTB

Back in the day I tried cleats for one season. When I remembered to un clip they were good but when I forgot I fell in the mud :( Anywho I now ride wearing trail running shoes, the extra deep tread keeps my feat well planted both on my flats and in the muddy ground. The grip lets me push, press...

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

Sorry Martin, I didn't buy anything from you this time. I appreciate you need to make a living. I don't think you can blame me not buying a spider tool for £30 when my m/c shock spanner fitted perfectly. I have chosen your store for parts over others when I owned a kalkhoff and when my cube...

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

Having never seen an ISIS crank before made me think it was something unique to Bosch, along with talk of spcical spider tools & I'd blown the whole job out of all proportions. In reality a ISIS crank extractor is less than a fiver off the bay & the " spider nut" is basically a castleated nut &...

Changes to Regulations - Speed pedelecs / dongles / throttles

When you say like in the USA, did you mean Or How about Montana, 30 miles an hour, but no crank drives. Then there's District of Columbia US federal law is one thing but each state has its own laws. Pick the state you like the best and move there (only joking)

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

Here's a thought, couldn't I just reverse the motor sprocket as the Rohloff owners do ?

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

Back to the OP about motor sprockets From the comments made to my questions 1/ is it normal for Bosch drive sprockets to need replacing this early This would seam to be acceptable ware 2/ should I take this up with Bosch, Cube or the retailer I'll speak to my retailer anyway 3/ what tools...

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

Martin I agree, if you let everything go on until it's all knackered you'll get more miles. This is possibly what's expected in the pedelec world but I come from the world of So this way of thinking is a culture shock. As I'm running two cassettes with different ratios, keeping on top of the...

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

Rob the KMC chain, that's discounted to half RRP My Cube came with a KMC chain & there's no visual difference between the old chain & my replacement. Anywho, it's not the chain that's f^[{# d it's the motor sprocket Your totally missing the point of my OP

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

. This view seams to be held by most of the cycle industry, If people are happy running there drivetrain until it starts jumping or shifting badly, by all means go for it. I'm just trying to follow industry advice. I believe with a conventional drivetrain & front sprocket the above advice is...

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

Rob degreasing was a last resort, I'd tried using the new chain as purchased to no avail before resorting to degreasing, i said in my OP "even after degreasing" not degreasing before I'd even tried fitting it, I'm not a complete muppet :p . Yeh but, it's not a standard crank. But now you've...

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

Trex your right. As we speak, I'm now running my old chain & motor sprocket with my newer low mileage rear cassette. Even though it goes against my engineering background to run new parts with worn, I'll just have to get over it. ;)

Bosch motor sprocket (2014) worn out ?

Cheers Martin It's a bit of a poor show if you can only expect as little as1500 miles on a drive train. I'll just add the bits up for 1400 miles Spider tool.......... £30 Crank puller.........£17 Drive sprocket ....£14 KMC 9spd chain. £8 Cassette.............£15
