    Ebike derestrictor

That seems like the best way forward, no need to use a sledgehammer (arduino) to crack a walnut.

Can I derestrict my 2016 Haibike Sduro Nduro for private Land use?

Yes just glue a spare magnet onto the end of the pedal spindle and relocate the speed sensor from inside the chainstay to outside so the new magnet position activates it. Job done, this does mean your speedo won't work though and you can't just replace it with a wireless one as there is too much...

What do you think is best for me?

So all of the negative comes from bottom of the range, that's good as it isn't the market you or I would be in. With the extra info you have provided with regard to your cycling I would urge you to examine what you want very closely. My Haibike is superb in the Alps where I can be riding on 10%...

What do you think is best for me?

When you have had nothing but negative feedback I can't quite understand why you still want an ebike. Having said that I can only offer advice based on my own personal experiences powered and unpowered. I have had no electrical problems in 2000km of riding my ebike. The chain is just about shot...

    All my miles gone.

Maybe even it's in an EEPROM, brings back memories of reprogramming Bosch and Siemens plc's. We used to have a device that we called a budgies sunbed to wipe eproms, got caught out once in the Czech Republic needing to change some code and had to get one of the local techs to take the eprom to...

    Tow bar mounted carrier

So just to clear this up, they are not illegal even though the garage told you they were. Most towbar carriers fit onto the towball meaning you cannot tow at the same time. Some carriers can be attached via the towbar mounting holes on old fashioned towbars with two bolt mounting enabling you to...

I think there is a distinct smell of male bovine going on here, it isn't them that is supplying the trailer is it?

    Orgreave

Don't know if any of you were involved but I was working for NCB at the time, what went on with the police had to be seen to be believed. Very little was reactionary most of it was pre planned.

    Changing to a larger Chainring

You can do a 2x chainring conversion (I have done mine, pinched the chainrings off wife's bike cos she never uses front shifter). It is quite expensive by the time you have bought 2 chainrings, shifter, derailleur and cable. If you go this route you need a direct mount top pull front derailleur...

    The new best headlight

You need a collimating lens not a reflector to make a led function like a spotlight.

Switching the 350w BPM motor on my Big Bear for a 500w one

If the original motor is labeled as 350W it's not legal anyway!

OK. So how do people with glasses and false teeth ride without mudguards

You beat me to it Eddie. Neo guards are the perfect answer though I do use a crud catcher on the rear too.

    Big Bens tyres

The stock Schwalbe tyres whether they are Rapid Rob or Racing Ralph fitted as oem to Haibike are not good tyres. They are a harder compound generally wire bead tyres from the Schwalbe middle range. They bear no resemblance to the higher end tyres of the same names. You can tie yourself in knots...

    installing SRAM's Eagle X01 drivetrain

Me and more, I have 36-11 cassette and 32-44 chainrings and still want lower gearing so I can increase my range without my heart rate needing to get much over 160. It all depends on the terrain you are riding on. I do have a sunrace 40-11 to fit when I change the chain.
