Yes just glue a spare magnet onto the end of the pedal spindle and relocate the speed sensor from inside the chainstay to outside so the new magnet position activates it. Job done, this does mean your speedo won't work though and you can't just replace it with a wireless one as there is too much interference.

You can just use a gps speedo. I used my Garmin for awhile when I had my bike modded that way. Worked fine.

Now I decided to go with a dongle to derestrict it. I went with the Peartune dongle, the stock speedo functions perfectly with no issues and the bike looks stock. It's pretty fun.

Not all dongles keep the speedo working correctly, most of them read ok up to a certain speed (below cutout) then they cancel every other or 2 out of 3 pulses so the speedo reads half or a third of the correct speed.

That was what I really like about the Peartune dongle I went with. The speedo reads correctly all the time. I've been very happy with it.

I've ordered a Speedup Ribelle. I bit cheaper than the Peartune but is meant to do the same thing. Remove the restriction while still keeping the speed and distance as they should be.

Lancing, on the South Downs.
I purchased a Speedup Ribelle, from Italy. As it gives the correct speedo reading, and keeps the correct mileage on the Odometer. It can be turned on and off by a sort sequence of pressing walk and down buttons, and is hidden inside the motor cover.

I used Google chrome and Google translate, to understand what to order.
I've covered about 400 miles with SpeedUp fitted with no problems so far.

I would like to get me help from my bike, can I derestrict it for free?
You can derestrict it for about £1

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sn74ls74-74Ls74-Flip-Flops-Dual-D-Type-5Pcs-Develope-New-Ic-Diy-M-/381611866513?hash=item58d9d6f991:g:p4sAAOSwcUBYHcOz

5v connects to vcc; ground to GND; speed signal from your sensor to CLK; Q is the signal output to your motor; join D to Q with a line over it, like in the diagram. Alternatively, you can pay £125 or more for a ready made one.

How does this solution effect the read outs on the trip computer?
