Three wire Bms to two, is it possible?

I need to order a BMS myself. I was thinking of this one below. It seems to have 2 white wires for a switch and an external thermistor and 60A peak/30A continuous rating along with balance function. 5 amp maximum charge current. Looks good for about £8 plus another £7.38 for delivery. What do...

Three wire Bms to two, is it possible?

I have seen in a Phylion battery a 'thermal' fuse on the charging circuit standing up under the BMS circuit board thats pushed down between two cells and embedded with white thermal goo. This fuse blows when the cells reach a certain temperature rather than due to excess current as far as I...

    Dual Battery Connection Adapter

I done a rough measurement of that 'cross current' once. The 36v batteries were an 11.6 Ah (samsung 2.9) and a 7ah (samsung 3.5) . I put an ammeter in series with one of the batteries. I allowed the batteries to equalize. Using my 5.5 ohm dummy load, I subjected the parallel batteries to loads...

    Dual Battery Connection Adapter

I use the schottky diodes (since 2018) all the time to parallel up to 3 batteries as I do long runs. I find them more or less foolproof and simple in practice once they are properly installed. The batteries can be left on the bike when charging if you want and the batteries can be charged...

Rear Hub Motor - Correct Order for Washers?

I just ground/filed the bump on the derailleur. The derailleur then was flat against the frame dropout. I did not have to do anything with the frame dropout other than widen it slightly by a rub of the file to remove some of the paint. A flat file should do the job. I got everything to fit...

Rear Hub Motor - Correct Order for Washers?

Its not that clear from your post whether your axle is 12 X 10 or 14 X 12. Anyhow I once fitted a Bafang geared hub with 12 X 10 axle to a similar 'semi horizontal' dropout type Apollo hybrid bike. I removed the derailleur from the dropout and pushed the motor fitted with the anti rotation...

TSZD2B clutch failure. Any tips on replacement?

I wonder if giving the clutch a good flushing with petrol and then light 3 in one oil would cure the problem as those little bearings and springs could be sticking due to solidified grease or whatever.

Do any cadence sensored hub motor controllers activate pedal assist when ghost pedalling backwards as well as forwards?

There was a specific requirement under the 2009 EN15194 standard which I assume probably still applies that pedaling backwards will not activate the motor as below.

    Bms for phylion 36v

I am familiar with one version of that battery. The leds and button is mounted on the BMS circuit board and is precisely mounted against the inside of the window on the casing. You would probably need a similar exact replacement BMS to get the button and leds to match up with the outer casing...

    Legal EBIKE LOOPHOLES

There may be as sort of loophole in that there seems to be a 10% tolerance for error suggested in the European (EN15194) standard, so this seems to suggest that a top speed of 17 mph would be acceptable. Perhaps someone could clarify if this is indeed the actual case in UK law ?

    Converting Carrera Subway 2

I had that problem when converting a Carrera Vengence . The brake pads were not fully in contact with the disk afterwards and a step was forming on them. I solved the problem by adding extra washers as shown below alongside the thick concave/convex washer pair. If for some reason you have to...

Yose Power Hub- need a new rim!

If you cant get or come close to the original rim size. you will also have also to replace the spokes and nipples. (preferably 14g) I have posted below a simply way to calculate the replacement spoke length if you keep to the same pattern. It can save you worrying about ERD...

Yose Power Hub- need a new rim!

They are bent cold. Bending and cutting 36 spokes for doing a complete wheel could be tedious and clutter a small regular non electric hub. But they are strong and there is a trick for fitting them to small hubs without removing the freewheel.if that is necessary.

Yose Power Hub- need a new rim!

I have made 'Z bend spokes' for repairs without problems. They are handy in that you can get a bike immediately back on the road with them using longer spokes. I have never done a complete wheel with them yet. https://wheelfanatyk.com/blogs/blog/z-spokes-all-you-need-to-know

Difference between 250w and 350w motor

The G370 as a small motor performs well(I think) because they run the internal motor very fast and reduce the speed by something like 11:1 as compared to 5:1 with the BPM and xf15. But I wonder how does it compare to the BPM on long runs with 20 minutes continuous hill climbs in terms of...

Difference between 250w and 350w motor

Re The graph above, you have set the controllers with a maximum phase current limit of 30Amps and this is putting a limit on your BPM torque and is causing the torque blue line to abruptly level off horizontally as RPM drops. If you change you controller phase current limit from 30A to 70A as...

Difference between 250w and 350w motor

I have the 20A controller on the xf07 and a 22A on the xf15, so I I reduced the 22 amp controller to 20 amps for the test, (setting C5 to 9). I rechecked the figures today. Originally, the xf07 climbed the steepest part of the hill at 11km/hr with the 15 amps controller. With the 20 amps...

Difference between 250w and 350w motor

I tried it myself on a local 10% hill. The bike had a Kt Lcd3 and 15A controller. On swapping out the xf07 for the xf15, I gained a noticeable increase in climbing ability for the same power as shown on LCD3. I put this down to the increased efficiency of the larger motor under heavy load. Mxus...

Difference between 250w and 350w motor

The controller may supply the electrical power but its the motor that converts this electrical power into mechanical power and its this mechanical power that counts. For example, a larger motor (e.g Bafang BPM) may be more efficient than a smaller (e.g mxus Xf07) even with similar controllers...
