    Dealing with naysayers

About seven years ago, when I got my first ebike, I had owned it for a few days. I was locking up the shop where I worked, when an old boy waved his stick at me and said 'that's cheating!'. Seven years later, with knees and hips hurting, I can assure you that without it, I would not still be...

    Bern helmets

Well, I got my helmet from Planet X today, Kirstin. That was very helpful. It fits well, I hardly know it's there and the peak keeps the sun out of my eyes. Very useful as I have eye trouble. £10 is a bargain.

    Bern helmets

Thank-you Kirstin. I have just ordered one from PlanetX at £10. I have searched all over the place for a helmet of that design, but no joy, and then I saw your post. It was a manager at one of the places where I work who nagged me to get a helmet! Also, I was under the impression you were a...

    Wisper 905 rear wheel/rim.

Also, bear in mind that nothing is final! If it doesn't go as you expected, slacken it all off and start again. (and again). You'll feel you have accomplished something when it's back in the bike.

    Wisper 905 rear wheel/rim.

Yes, I've watched that video by the Australian bird and built a couple of wheels. She's very good. As someone else said, you are more in touch with something you have built yourself. Lots of lubrication both ends of the spokes is important, so they can move without snapping. SJS cycles are good...

Recommedations for battery for Pro Rider E-Tourer needed.

I have two of these batteries, both came from https://ebikebatteries.co.uk/ Yose Power also do them, but not sure of the quality. Woosh used to sell bikes with this type of battery. Not sure if they have anything. They usually come with a new black plastic base and the aluminium mounting strip...

    Woosh - thumbs up?

Well, I never really take much notice of bikes with crossbars, being an old fart who has trouble getting his leg over, but I looked at the Crossfuse, then at the Woosh Camino, and I know which I would prefer..... The Camino looks very smart, comes with a rack and mudguards, and is about £400...

    Woosh - thumbs up?

Well, I'll stick up for Woosh as well. I could not fault the price or speed of delivery when I bought my first bike from them, seven years ago. They helped when any parts were needed. I think they have only got better since then, and the standard of their bikes has gone up. As Tony has pointed...

Average shipping cost from China to UK?

This was a route I looked at, but it all seemed a bit dubious. I ended-up buying a frame from AliExpress, as I could find nothing in this country. That was five years ago, and I've learned a lot since then! This firm in Germany sells frames...

    Lovely frame - but heavy!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/26-Inch-Aluminium-Ladies-Bicycle-Frame-post-Loads-Cargo-Bike-Hub-Gears-Disc-Rh62/312796627891 All you could want in a frame, but a bit heavy! I was tempted, but age and lack of space are a problem.

New ebike company in the UK......

Yes, I remember Edge bikes. They had some good models, one with a front rack similar to the one coming out from Wisper. Lot of similarities between Edge, Wisper, Juicy and Woosh. Practical bikes.

    Introducing the new Woosh Rambla

I notice the rear rack is more substantial than the one in the original picture. I use mine every day, if I need to move the bike around, and I don't think that original one is designed for that. Lovely looking bike Mr Woosh.

The development of the brand new 2020 Wispers... in Pictures!

Yes, I think that's a great system. It avoids buying a bike then having to change things on it. You end up with a shed-full of bits you don't want! My four year-old grandson saw your bikes when I was visiting the website. 'That's a nice bike, and you can put things on the front'. What a...

    Introducing the new Woosh Rambla

It's a good idea to ask for views before you go ahead. I must admit, that rack looks like style over substance. The front mudguard has already been highlighted. Any chance of lugs welded on for a front rack, like Wisper, Rad Power, Tern etc? It's too late when it's in production. Hub gears...

    Rad Runner - useful bike.

This is the European one from the man at Electric Bike Report. He did a longer one on the US one. I saw a video of his that explained that he lives in a petrol hybrid car and travels around the USA to carry out his work. Interesting man.

    Rad Runner - useful bike.

https://radpowerbikes.eu/pages/radrunner Just found this. Not too keen on the tyres, but useful, well thought-out and 250 watt version available in EU. Good price as well.

    Steering Damper

Without a stabiliser, when you let go of the handlebars when at rest, the front wheel tends to have a mind of its own and twists brake cables etc. If you have a fork-mounted rack, and it's loaded, the problem is even worse. That is what is so good about the front rack mounting on the new...

    Steering Damper

Yes, my bike has one. Would not be without it. You can make your own easily enough. Springs are about two pounds on EBay and a stainless clamp the same.
