    36v battery with 48v motor

You can buy a good 48V 15Ah for as low as £180. I have never seen batteries so cheap before. Next year it might be entirely different situation, so if you want an upgrade, the time is now. https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/government-announces-bill-to-combat-e-bike-battery-fire-risks.47551/

Government announces Bill to combat e-bike battery fire risks

ESF: "This Government now has a golden opportunity to turn the tide by introducing third-party certification for e-bike batteries, " How are they going to determine if a battery is safe or not and who is going to pay for it?

What battery do you need? 36V? Light battery means low capacity.

Woosh starts shipping Tongsheng TSDZ8 with 250W label

VLCD5 was the only option. Bafang has much wider choice of LCDs than Tongsheng. You can still buy some, but then there is a problem with connecting brake and gear sensors TSDZ8 is 3 or 4 times more powerful than my TSDZ2B In general you should not change gears under load, right...

E-bikes to be banned by employers after dozens of battery fires TfL, NHS trusts and other organisations

No, we can't as person should be presumed innocent until proven guilty. We don't know how many as a) there is no such thing as reputable bike and b) we haven't seen even a single properly investigated case of a battery fire.

E-bikes to be banned by employers after dozens of battery fires TfL, NHS trusts and other organisations

You didn't really think it through, did you? I keep my battery right behind photocopier. This way if anything goes wrong I can deny everything. After all photocopiers are very dangerous and prone to spontaneous combustion. Everybody knows that.

E-bikes to be banned by employers after dozens of battery fires TfL, NHS trusts and other organisations

Potential ban on public transport does not surprise me at all. Most of e-bike users are skinned and with no insurance and potential damage could be huge. Employers should provide alternative and safe storage though (which could be done at relatively low cost)

E-bikes to be banned by employers after dozens of battery fires TfL, NHS trusts and other organisations

Makes me wonder if they are going to ban electric cars as well?

    36v battery with 48v motor

Front wheel motor is good. Rear hub is better. 48V controller is the one you want and 48V battery with good cells. Always have a quick link with you. Hub motor or mid drive. It is tiny and light and can save you a lot of trouble.

Woosh starts shipping Tongsheng TSDZ8 with 250W label

OK... honeymoon is over, so maybe it is time to address an elephant in the room and talk also about what is not so great about TSDZ8 - VLCD5 - is awful. Probably the ugliest LCD out there. - TSDZ8 is very powerful, which is good on one hand, but on another it means extra pressure on brakes...
