    the bike of tomorrow

Captain Kirk I think maybe you are actually a transporter type, Keith. "Beam me to girlfriend Scotty." Although I believe hyperspace can be a bit bumpy at times! :D

    the bike of tomorrow

Oh dear! Can't you get some cosmetic surgery like a boob job but on your bum? A couple of silicone pads might do wonders for you. :)

    care of sprung forks

I've never had sprung forks before, and the information that came with my Agattu is not very informative. Is there anything in particular that I should know about in terms of care and maintenance?

    the bike of tomorrow

We're all getting soft. Imagine negotiating the unmade up roads of a century ago on penny farthings! Do you think those village blacksmith type frames were made of solid steel? Whatever did they weigh?

    Panasonic battery for Agattu

Memories of swatting up the Leclancé cell at school for second year physics... The potential rewards are so great that I suppose all the research possible has already been done. It will probably need a complete new breakthrough and what the possibility of that is, is anybodies guess. One...

    Panasonic battery for Agattu

Enjoy your new bike, Keith. It sounds as if you already are getting a lot out of it!

    Panasonic battery for Agattu

Who knows. Perhaps some latterday Fleming is already examining a petri dish in which some new bacterium is converting human sweat directly into electricity. Then pedelec controllers could also be much simpler. Only when one was suitably sweating under effort would electricity be available to...

    Panasonic battery for Agattu

Yes - and the charger for the Panasonic is a delightfully neat little affair. I have very little information about the proper treatment for this charger. Is there anything I should be aware of particularly. When and how best to switch it on and off for instance?

    Panasonic battery for Agattu

Thanks, Flecc. It's rather easy to understand that the battery must contain a fair chunk of electronic wizardry. It really is a bit staggering that such a relatively small case holds 20+ miles worth. When one compares the size of the lead acid batteries that buggies seem to all use the mind...

    Panasonic battery for Agattu

Looking (I hope) some time into the future, is there any way of avoiding the seemingly hefty cost of a new battery for the Agattu? I believe I have read about re-celling batteries or changing them to Nickel Hydride and so on. I had not quite realised just how much battery replacement compromised...

Hall Effect Motor..... What is it?

Hi Jimmy. Flecc has an account of how the Panasonic motor of your new Kalkhoff works somewhere. As usual it is wonderfully lucid and informative. Having a little ride this morning with somewhat rubbery legs, I was musing upon how superbly well this hugely complex piece of electronic wizardry was...

    Coming tomorrow

Two days I've been riding my new Agattu for two days now and begin to feel that I understand it. I haven't found anything that I would consider a fault, and have discovered many things that I consider excellent design and construction. The bike gives a splendid impression of stability when...

How many electric bikes do you see out on the roads?

There are quite a number in Felixstowe - a well know retiree town - but they are mostly the "moped" style and don't seem to be peddled much. The big Powerbyke is popular.

Step through Sorry Music - obviously I've given the wrong impression. My Agattu is a step through.

    Coming tomorrow

prop stand repair I've just made a temporary repair to the snapped prop stand with a bit of rod and a bandage of duct tape. What useful stuff it is. It's working well which will be a relief as it was a nuisance not having it. Haven't heard from 50cycles yet. It might be a real pain for them to...

    Coming tomorrow

Hi Martin - I am really thrilled to bits with the Agattu. It's all that I hoped for and perhaps a bit more as I was rather unsure about going up hills but need not have been. I've felt a little casual about not telling of my experiences here but doing the blog is enough! And filling up this...

    What's flecc up to now?...

I'm sure it will be worth the wait. The frame must be stiffer however good the step through is.

    Coming tomorrow

Perhaps I'm nearer, or on a route they are taking anyway. I suppose a thousand and one things will effect a trader supplying nation wide with presumably strictly limited numbers of vans. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

    A moan & 2 questions

Derek - 50cycles appear to do a good poncho. It's in their accessories section. As for the specs - nothing is as good as a sailing souwester in my experience. A good one will have a brim that will protect them completely. Any sailing gear shop will stock them.
