    Lights

That's a lot of current for LEDs to draw! I'm interested Infrared LED's lately.. those can draw just as much energy, super bright, but invisible to the naked eye of course.."black light"..not much use on a bike unless you use an electronic viewfinder or summat :D

    Ebike Conversion Kit 36V 250W 28''

That's a shame. You could try selling it on eBid if the classifieds doesn't work, I sold a new kit through there once quite quickly, and there's no selling fees, unlike the % eBay take.

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

I agree with d8veh... I have 36V10Ah on my 250W 26" and that is a light bike and so am I... that's entry level/minimum power I think.. no complaints on that bike (21kg) it will do just about any hill, and 20-22mph on flats... but with a heavier bike or person, it would be different I reckon...

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

That's the thing ain't it, these SLA batteries don't make sense on an e-bike really..cuz it's gonna drag on the performance lugging all that weight.. that's a good point too, once the power goes you got to pedal the thing you don't wanna be stranded. Maybe that would be a good thing to do...

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

Neat, you got a bargain at that price. Did you test out the range it can do yet? I assume the speed is legally restricted to the 15mph in that controller as you said you can do 15mph max.. perhaps there's a potential for it to go faster on the existing battery if you could "de-restrict" it from...

    Want to build a robot

Maybe I will just get a stepper motor and controller and have a mess about to see how easy it is to control these things.. I actually have another use for a stepper motor..I want to adapt a camcorder for CCTV use and make it pan from left to right and back..so maybe doing that as a smaller...

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

Your bike looks immaculate unless that's an earlier pic? You looked after it well.

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

That bike could actually be a serious contender for a 21st "mod-ped" if it was over-accessorised with sufficient mirrors and lights on it.

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

Well since they're so cheap its worth risking under normal circumstances eh. But the thing is, this bike doesn't look like a regular e-bike.. and if it blows up and he needs to replace it, could be costly if parts aren't readily available and/or he can't adapt this bike to an BMS Battery...

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

I would say you would do 20mph easy on 48V, depending on the watts rating of motor and Ah rating of battery...you got to think how far you want to travel, if there's hills etc.. that looks a heavy bike so you may not be able to maintain that speed for long unless your battery has the capacity...

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

Controllers are so cheap (< tenner?) may as well just play it safe and replace it for 48V rated...you can even sell that 24V one and recoup some of the cost eh.

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

Well if I were you, I'd replace the controller with a 36V-48V one.. upgrade your gears to 11T and a big chainwheel 52T or bigger, and that should take you up to 20mph-22mph zone,..unless you/your bike weighs a ton. You can over volt the motor..gearing works wonders, you should try that now if...

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

You can't dump twice the voltage into a controller eh and expect it not to go bang, although motors are tolerant to "over volting" (i.e. 36V motor will take 48V) controllers are not...they're intended to take a certain limited voltage range usually I think.

    Want to build a robot

I fancy having a crack at building a robot with some stepper motors.. Has anyone ever tried anything like this or messed around with stepper motors? Reason why I want to have a go at this is because I want to try building a labour saving machine to automate some repetitive tasks I do in my...

    Ebike Conversion Kit 36V 250W 28''

I'm thinking of selling my 2 year old 26" 36V 250W RFTec kit (with about 1-1.5 years use on it).. not sure how much to sell it for.. it's not your run of the mill/BMS Battery kit..as it's got the fancy LCD console for the controller.. paid £300 for it new. it's a 15A controller if memory serves...

    Lights

Incredible. I got to get one. There's some well dangerous places where I ride at night, middle of nowhere, no street lights, nothing, and water, lots of water..rivers and lakes..I was riding home one night around this lake by just the moonlight cuz my bike light was doing nothin.. I had my nokia...

    winter riding

I know what you mean! I got the exact type of jacket given to me by my brother for free, so I'm all set this winter..it's basically two coats in one..the one inside zips out and is all padded and very well..the outer one is weather proof and very reflective..long like the coppers. That's some...

    Hyundai GDV11Map Cam

Does anyone know anything about this cam? http://youtu.be/cK-EcB6BfVI *German Alert* Anyone fluent can tell us the gist? It looks like a decent little bike cam for £60 and the GPS feature interests me... but is it just a cam which records video onto the SD card with the GPS position...

I need like 3 coats though, woolie hat, gloves, everything..and I'm still whining like a b*tch about how cold it is.. I dunno what it is...

    Help.....What Tablet.....

Yeah it does look a little dated I guess compared to Android..videos is slow and Web videos is a bit rare..I still think it's a beautiful little machine though hardware wise, very well designed in every detail..they really did think of everything eh? The slide out keyboard very slick..and light...
