Discussions started about legalising e-scooters, could this mean insurance insurance for e-bikers?

I doubt that we will have restrictions. The whole Government policy is to encourage people out of cars. Having said that, I did see a scooter in Swansea with what appeared to be a Czech number plate, so if some countries are registering them, who knows? I am not too sure of the current legal...

    Handlebars.

It's OK, the bike won't get damaged.

Would you pay £30 to save 1kg?

Strange, I would have thought that the torque would be greater in a lower gear not less. I am thinking in terms of a car, why change down gear on a hill?

Would you pay £30 to save 1kg?

I have difficulty following this. Why should a crank drive in bottom gear only produce half the Nm of a hub drive. (Don't get me wrong, I have a hub drive and am slowly getting to prefer it to my crank drive bike.)

    Handlebars.

Yes, by the pond. Hard to think that I can remember riding along it on a railway train to Victoria Station from Killay station.

    North Road handlebars for me.

Dalston fatal e-bike crash rider 'going too fast' - Court Case

I wrote What on earth are you arguing about? I also 'Don't get it' and what has being an ex-copper got to do with it. Perhaps you had better run it all past me again! Because I am genuinely bewildered. Why did you accuse me of trying to start an argument? I read your threads before and after my...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think that flying insects may prove to be a vector.

    New battery tech coming soon

As far as I am concerned, unless I can buy it and fit it to my bike, all this 'latest battery technology' is just smoke and mirrors.

    Battery unbalanced

It did occur to me that the balance wires could be tapped and extended to an external plug to simplify matters.

    Battery unbalanced

Three times in the past 20 months my Tonaro battery has gone out of balance necessitating sending it off for attention. I doubt that it is anything to do with the way I use it because I have another battery, a 2011 phyllion one that is still working well although reduced in mileage. Further, I...

Dalston fatal e-bike crash rider 'going too fast' - Court Case

I want to make it very clear that I do not support dongles or any other illegality in ebikes. I am sorry that this woman died. But the law is the law, it may not be what we like and that is what politics is all about. From my own experience, newspaper reporters never get things right. Further...

Dalston fatal e-bike crash rider 'going too fast' - Court Case

No, because they have far more experience of the law in many differing cases than you have. Ask yourself, if you appear in court, do you want the evidence against you carefully measured and then weighed against the letter of the law, or would you prefer some semi hysterical prejudiced verdict...

E-bike rider weeps as he is cleared of death by careless driving

It is not harsh, it is the law. Neither am I being thoughtless. This woman ignored it and paid the price. Life is tough but judicial decisions should be logical and never based on emotions

E-bike rider weeps as he is cleared of death by careless driving

Sorry, but this collision was entirely the fault of the pedestrian who ignored the Highway Code. How to Cross a Road Safely THINK FIRST - PLAN. Find the safest place to cross then stop. ... STOP. Stand on the pavement little way back from the edge. ... WATCH AND LISTEN. Look for traffic in...
