    What Fet to replace with

Well my pimped up tiny wee 6 fet chinese controller has handled the power increase well.Running at 17 -18 amp for long stretches has not given any controller/motor overheating issues. Its climbed the two mile hill to my home a score of times. So i was surprised when today just a mile into a...

Any test to discover controller AMP rating

I cant say ive looked at the AH & WH readings harrys .Ive only been interested in the controller AMPs , motor watt output & batt voltage readings. The watt output readings im seeing are correct for the Amps x voltage at that moment. The battery cut out at the correct voltage after 20...

Any test to discover controller AMP rating

Finally fitted a watt meter the other day.Decided to fit as a permanent display screwed to a bike light bracket.Used d8ves method of running the black wire only to handlebars & back with 14 awg .Removing the thick red wires from the meter and using a single thin wire off the Pos for power.A much...

    Advice on bafang middrive please

Thanks guys. Fitting the watt meter is going to be invaluable. Seeing how my 2 bikes throttles and PAS perform and being able to tweak things.

    Advice on bafang middrive please

shouldnt the throttle pressed to max give full power , ie the full 18amps regardless of peddling, d8veh ? I remember mentioning in a past thread, my bbs throttle was gutless on hills and you commented, that it was my ones programming .Im assuming that being something id have to change when i...

    Advice on bafang middrive please

thanks to other comments on your thread ive learned you can still pedel when operating the throttle. The throttle overides the PAS. Ive noticed now a boost, but only if you had the PAS set lower than maximum. If its already maxed i didnt notice any increase. Its no better than pressing the PAS...

Little confusion on suitable wire awg for watt meter

hi d8veh thanks.I totally get what you mean.Sounds more sensible. It was from the point of convenience i was thinking of, just pop the watt meter in and out as i please on either bike. having a wire stub with connector, permanently spliced to the battery pos wire down by the batt / controller...

Little confusion on suitable wire awg for watt meter

thanks d8veh ive got enough 14awg for one run up to handlebars an back. If i dont just connect a single wire from the pos to power it,but want to run that back also, does that then need to be 14awg as well ? .I want to be able to try it out on both bikes. Just popping it in with the same...

Little confusion on suitable wire awg for watt meter

The meter is fitted with 12 awg.Ive got tons of 16awg and cant see the point in buying more.I want to tune the controller to 18amps and prob leave permanently as its display,so is 16awg ok im wondering. After all i notice the wire from the battery and controller is 16awg. Also the wire from my...

Oh no..More problems with throttle interference with PAS

thanks tommie ,i keep wondering if one of the brake wires in the loom stopping working ,is trying to tell me something. Its still covered by warrenty ,i will contact Eclipse bikes. They already offered to send a replacement controller,a while back.I told them i wanted to be sure first.

Oh no..More problems with throttle interference with PAS

hi d8veh ,its the 350w bbs01b 18 amp. Do these readings sound normal to you ? Once the peddles are turning the signal wire voltage just hovers around 2.4v give or take 0.1v doesnt pulse to 5v. The throttles only seem to cause this annoying on off thing with the PAS at lower speed.Once the bikes...

Oh no..More problems with throttle interference with PAS

hi d8veh i think ive tested everything. The throttle stays at 4.72v on the 5v. 0.85v to 3.95v on the signal. The PAS is 4.85v on the 5v. The signal is 0v.However if i move the crank a couple mm in either direction it changes to 4.95v .Another tiny move and back to 0v and so on.Thats without...

Oh no..More problems with throttle interference with PAS

Thanks d8veh ill check that.So im connecting the tester to the PAS wires. see what readings i get when activating the PAS and again after i connect the throttle. That sort of thing ?

Oh no..More problems with throttle interference with PAS

thanks ebr,my PAS been working fine for weeks ,only plays up when one of the throttles is connected.Nevertheless ive just checked but all is good with the connecter. Its a throttle interference prob. As wheeliepete says i think im maybe looking at a controller fault.

Oh no..More problems with throttle interference with PAS

thanks pete .You may have read a couple of my previous threads where i detailed how the PAS had stopped working completely for 2 weeks after the rain/throttle issue. Eclipse offered to send a new controller ( its under warrenty ).But i told them to wait when the PAS sprang back to life. Guess...
