    nvm moscow throttle

It is possible to fit a throttle by tapping into the cable linking the display and the controller fitted near the bottom bracket and I have done so. See post 8 in the attached link for circuit schematic & background info...

    Puncture repair kits

What's a puncture? Since fitting Tannus Armour inserts around 6 months ago and riding around 150km a week, I haven't had a puncture, whereas previously I was getting at least one a week. OK, I haven't had to contend with the debris from cutting hawthorn hedges during this period, but am...

    Swytch Kit

Will have very limited range...if it claims 50 km it means 30. 20 mph maximum speed (from assist) would make it illegal in Europe including UK. By careful component selection you could get a kit elsewhere & battery with more than double the capacity for little more than £300. So it's thumbs down...

Is my ebike legal on the road

I would think that 9 bullet connectors would be a bit bulky. I used the following and have had no issues: https://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/0.html?spm=a2g0s.9042647.6.1.20654c4dXj0FyS&orderId=505846323805964&productId=32796721303 The male part of the plug has a loop in the molding that was...

Is my ebike legal on the road

Not relevant to your query, and possibly teaching granny to suck eggs, but make sure you put a connector in the cable to the motor so that you can easily remove the wheel to fix punctures. I have one of these conversions and absence of a connector is the only criticism I have of the supplied kit.

    Assist crossbar E-Bike

Most of this narrative makes an assumption; if the assumption is wrong ignore!! Could it be the normally closed brake sensor cable? If so could the wires be joined until the item be replaced? If it is the sensor, is there a similar one on the other brake? If so which brake do you always use? If...

    CERRERA THROTTLE CONVERSION

I should point out my bike is not a Carrera (=Cerrera?). The bike I would like to add a throttle to is a NCM Moscow, however I also have a conversion I did to an old push-bike with a Voilamart kit. Although this has a conventional throttle input I've been using it as a testbed for adding...

    CERRERA THROTTLE CONVERSION

That's three cables to the throttle? If so one will be to provide the battery voltage for display. There should be red (+5v) black (GND) a third maybe yellow or green or white wire to take the throttle Hall signal to pin A0 of the Arduino and a fourth (could also be yellow, green or yellow) to...

    Brake light.

Presumably you have (a) brake sensor(s) to cut off the motor. It would be easy to use the contact closure (or the Hall signal if it's a three wire sensor) to drive a circuit to apply power to the brakelight which could operate at battery voltage or at 5v available from the controller. If diy...

New controller + LCD ordered from China

I bow to your experience on this Nealh, but I would have thought a brake linked cut-off, on at least the brake you always use, was essential whether or not a throttle is fitted in order to "kill" the motor, rather than wait the second or so it takes for the motor to cut off after you stop...

New controller + LCD ordered from China

Excellent deal. Presumably you already have a PAS for the bottom bracket and brake "switches" to cut the motor? I'll perhaps contact you again in a couple of months to see if the product meets expectation. J

New controller + LCD ordered from China

Interesting. Who are you buying from (via eBay or AliExpress?)? And what is the cost?

How to become as punctureproof as possible.

I'm probably tempting fate, but my experience with Tannus Armour inserts is all good. They are not inexpensive (ca. £25 - £30) but somewhat cheaper than buying new Scwalbe Marathon Plus(es) at ca. £30 - £35. Until fitting the inserts I was getting a puncture every few rides, since fitting I've...

How to get the best from your battery

"Most important is if you have to store the battery for any length of time (month+) without use that it should not be fully charged, and should certainly not be allowed to become empty. People seem to suggest the 50% to 80% range." Is this evidence-based or rumour based? Can anyone cite the...

    Commuter bike build advice

I have fitted a Voilamart 250w 36v front wheel drive to a normal mountain bike. The Voilamart offering offers excellent value for money (a little over £110 to include new brakes, control box, twist hand throttle and cadence sensor). If i was to convert an existing bike in future I would take the...

Newbie - buying an E Bike from Europe.

Provided there is no excess carriage to get from Europe the prices quoted there and on UK Amazon are comparable, so buy from Europe....before 31 October, after which, you can pretty certain UK prices won't reduce!

NCM Moscow 29 (ex Leon Cycles (leon.de)0 via eBay

Looks like we've got quite a little community of NCM Moscow enthusiasts. The Mudguards I fitted are SKS (I think that's the old Bluemels, though that name doesn't appear anywhere) Velo65Mountain, 65 being the mudguard width in mm. Both the front and rear guards are "waisted" slightly to fit...
