Thinking now is it all worth while ?

Whilst a big advocate on test riding a few e-bikes before buying, I can't see it adds anything at all to knowing how reliable any will be? Test riding reveals how the bike, the drive and the drive's electronic management feels, and here there can IMO be big differences. I found cadence based...

First e-Bike (Somewhat overawed and confused...!) - Help / Guidance appreciated

When it comes to leaving it parked up somewhere, looking rather understated, might have its attractions? What really have you to gain from others being very attracted to your bike, your really the only one who needs to know how great a bit of kit it actually is, well IMO.

Review Whats the diffrence btween both e-bikes ?

Dérailleurs have their place, foremost they are cheap, also they are light, serviceable, offer a wider gear range and can be quite efficient, so in that are a natural choice for both the budget and the more sporting enthusiast user, particularly where the use is in more severe terrain. [Though...

Review Whats the diffrence btween both e-bikes ?

That in itself is IMO a very big plus together with being technically kinder to the hub gear, which is also a better quality hub gear. Then there is that higher energy storage battery. So, apart from the aesthetics in your eye's, I feel it looks more like all pluses going for the Centros.

Review Whats the diffrence btween both e-bikes ?

One was a £2850 bike, the other is a £2150 bike, but to me it is the 8 speed Nexus gear, is IMO a far better engineered gear than the cheaper Nexus 7 speed. Nothing to do with an extra gear, but its better engineering technology. The more rugged technology of the Nexus 8 being a benefit in the...

    Impulse 2 Charger

What picture, the one that was flagged up? Charger That one illustrated is not even for the Impulse 2, the thread subject. I have seen no other picture of the correctly configured charger, indicating only two wires are used. The web page very clearly states to message them about the charger...

    Impulse 2 Charger

Clearly, as I responded some time before you "updated" your post reading it would, shall we say, have been quite obviously "challenging". Whilst I could tear into the cable, the charger or the battery I shall not be doing so. The charger itself, I have checked and they accredit the following...

    Impulse 2 Charger

Similarly, it is naive just to assume they don't serve some functions, even if not functions replicated in cheaper options? A case where to know what if anything they do is a far better informed position than assuming.

    Impulse 2 Charger

Even if the plug case does not contribute yet an additional connection, there are already 4 pins involved, hinting there could be more to replacing this charger than DIY cobbling up an alternative charger to apply a potential to the battery?

Hub motor v Mid drive motor?

Bikes like many things are riddled with potential single point failure, features, it does not reflect a flawed design, it reflects more a considered design approach involving a huge chunk of "probability of failure". A puncture, a failed road wheel axle or rim, a headstock or even the frame...

    Impulse 2 Charger

From what I read on "Pedelecs" of owners experiences with the Impulse 2, are there not many "spare" chargers out there?

    first time ridding for real

Is that just an issue with cadence only sensing or a full power throttle, as I only have user as opposed to demonstrator experience of torque sensing, and simply can't understand that "warning" in the context of modern controls? Back on subject, I would take a universal tool to reset things...

    Range extenders

If it is just 5 to 10 miles is it worth the hassle, just bite the bullet and pedal home and "learn" the bike's limits? Pre the "lockdown" I a very few times took the charger so we could top up the wife's e-bike at a coffee shop break; in reality the need to use it was very rare.

Bosch Purion display - not waterproof?

Not at all Andy, I was neither addressing your comment, nor had I missed the fact you have left it ventilated, but answering the OP. Condensation as commented on has to be expected, so I suspect if referred back to Bosch IMO there would be zero chance of a warranty claim, though they might...

Bosch Purion display - not waterproof?

Is not the issue simply condensation forming when the thing is chilled by the colder rain, rather than any inference about required to be "watertight"? Complete sealing has its failings too, and needs to be done perfectly and reliably plus needs to be sealed with perfectly dried air or more...

    Rohloff or not to Rohloff.

Plus it does not run askew twisting under load to a side or be forced to move off the sprokets and can be shielded from dirt and water. But, still I much rather the Gates Carbon belt drive on several counts, not least that compasionate bit of compliance it adds into the drive train, good news...

retro fitting throttle to new e bikes

Do any of these feature what I would call a "walk" function that can be used to lift the speed up from zero to the 6 km/h allowed, or then again is that in someway inhibited if the system senses the rider is actually onboard?

Help! Looking for a <£2k commuting ebike which will take a child seat

Is that issue you highlight with Bosch CD motors in reality any different with the other brands, Shimano, Yamaha, Impulse, Bafang etc etc?
