    New Speeding Fines

Wow, these new fines are harsh, particularly Band A https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/offences/item/speeding-revised-2017/ 1 mile ph over the speed limit can result in a fine of 50% of weekly pay! Means tested fines, another road tax in disguise maybe.

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Rode up by a local beach today that is known for naughty nighttime activities. Had to laugh at this signpost on a nearby path.

    Insurance for e-bikes

I'm with Velosure and the bike is covered so long as an approved lock is used and secured to an immovable object. I have the receipt and photo of the lock to prove it complies but think if I was leaving it for anytime I would take a quick pic showing it is locked up before leaving it.

    Greetings to all pedelecers!

At least you can return a bike if it doesn't met your expectations when you order online or by phone but I didn't want to put anyone to that hassle if it was just my physical limitations. I can get up all the ramps on the sea front defences quite easily by going into a low gear and higher power...

    Greetings to all pedelecers!

I can't give you any advice, Dave. I just bought a pretty step through Chinese ebike from a local company (ERanger) based on the following: reviews, looks, ease of use and somewhat price. We live in a very flat area and I'm probably not about to start mountain biking although when I see the...

Describe your own ‘Truman Show’ bubble

I like the idea of exploring my 'Truman Bubble' though never heard that term before. I think I need to find out exactly how big the bubble is first, being a new ebiker. I was reading a Council leaflet about places to look out for, cycle lanes and trails, roads to avoid and snippets of history...

    Greetings to all pedelecers!

Hi Dave Just to say welcome and I'm sure someone will be along to advise you soon. The only advice I have is for your wife - she will love an ebike! It's just like cycling and nothing like cycling at the same time. When I'm on mine I feel thirty years younger. And, as you say, great for...

You forgot Granny who's putting you all on the naughty step if you don't play nicely :D

I agree that there is no point being personal but he was quite insulting in his own post rather than totally objective so wasn't surprised by some of the responses.

15 mph still feels like speeding to me :)

    Another ebike so soon?

Ha ha, there are no steep hills here! Probably being overtaken by the young 'un will do it. I rode back along the seafront today into a massive northerly headwind. This is sad but I really enjoyed overtaking a couple of men battling the elements - told you it was sad :D

    Another ebike so soon?

My son couldn't resist and has ordered from the same company I had my bike from, although a different model - he didn't fancy the Dutch style or the flowers! Like me, he only wants it for recreation and as a good exercise for his knee which has never been the same since dislocating it a few...

Possibly per bike but total sales over a year? That's always the choice, to sell many at a low price or far fewer at a higher spec and price.

Not a Gtech specific thread but lets talk about dealership attitude.

Where to start? I am not a bike expert or even half way there but I would like to make some observations. Firstly, the mark up on bikes, £400 to £500 minimum. Anyone who has invested their money and time in a business deserves fair reward for supplying goods and services. The mark up is not...

Stolen Cyclamatic C1 from Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire

So sorry that your bike has been stolen. My son just bought me an Abus D lock (could be a lethal weapon!) with a further looped cable to thread through the bike and loop onto the Abus. The Abus itself fits well round a post so a good size. The bike is locked and secured even in the garage...
