I just bought an electric bike!!

Your panniers are different to mine, Katy, so not sure how they should fit. I had a peek at the satchel one, it does look nice. The man in Halfords has clearly no idea about how special our bikes are to us - not everything is measured in £ ! Enjoy Flash and getting round Norfolk, nice...

Bless, I know that feeling. Can't walk far without pain but can be out on my bike for two hours, happy days. Have fun.

I just bought an electric bike!!

That must have been excruciatingly embarrassing! I'm surprised that the thought of the angle grinder didn't just end the excitement and solve the problem. My son has some great stories and when newly qualified he naively said to someone 'I just can't understand how you got the doorknob stuck...

I just bought an electric bike!!

Try Amazon for a rack bag, they are really reasonable. I was given a cover as a freebie but don't think they are expensive. I don't take my bike anywhere by car but I would take the battery off first. Don't forget to give your bike a name :)

I knew I shouldn't have walked into the shop!!

Ha ha, I think it's fine to go in a shop and browse but the moment you try them, it's all over! Enjoy

I just bought an electric bike!!

Congratulations Katy, you are going to have lots of fun with your bike. If I leave the bike for a while I take my Abus D lock plus a looped cable that I carefully feed round the front wheel and saddle and feed the loops into the D lock. My insurance company only insists on a bronze standard...

    Ebike for commuting

Hi Codemonkey I would suggest trying a few to see what style suits you. I bought a step through bike from ERanger because they were reasonably local, I liked the look of it, it does what I need but I'd say it is a solid, heavy bike. It also has a throttle so if my knee locked up I could get...

    Intro

Hi Rob and welcome You'll definitely not regret it. It's a great way of getting more landscapes. I know you'll get plenty of advice soon, there is some on the home page too. Hope you find your ideal ebike soon.

Does your bike have a name?

I think mine has to be Mabel. She is a lovely girly ebike and I live in the usually sleepy seaside town of Mablethorpe and ride up and down the coastal bike trail every day, sometimes a bit further afield. It's only a ten mile round trip but that's 70 a week. Mabel it is then :)

    My bum hurts

Nicked a pair of hubby's cycling trousers, lovely padding, made a huge difference under my own trousers :)

    Whyte Clifton opinions please.

It looks great. Whatever you decide on you will love an ebike. Your world will open up all over again.

Does your bike have a name?

Not yet.... have to have a good think. My son had his first ride on his new ebike today and gave us alter egos, Goose and Maverick! Think he was quite impressed which is a huge compliment from a lad whose pride and joy is a Kawasaki Versys 650. He had that big grin on his face anyway.

    New person

Just over one week cycling and I can walk the dog quite a lot further (with mi Granny stick) and played table tennis without any pain this weekend. I know it will never be perfect but it should be a lot better :)

    Insurance for e-bikes

In the description of terms, forcible entry is described as "Forcible and Violent Entry - a) entry evidenced by visible damage to the fabric of the building or vehicle at the point of entry b) damage caused to an immovable object or approved lock ". They do tell you that you need evidence...

    New Speeding Fines

But is that changing with these new fines? Also bugs me that those with no income will be on a winner apart from points. Oh wait, that's me, can't work at the moment, don't claim and pension pushed back 6 years :)
