still not to sure what to make of bosch ebike system

I'm afraid you lost me at about the 2nd line. I'm a cyclist, we sell bikes to people who ride bikes for fun or as a form of transport. This sort of detail puts 95% off them off, because they think they have to worry about it. They don't. Its a bike, ride it an enjoy. There are just some...

still not to sure what to make of bosch ebike system

if he's at 70rpm the motor isn't giving maximum assistance.... yes. if he's at 11mph, and in third gear, the motor speed isn't limiting, and he can change gear. So if he changes into an easier gear, he can spin his legs and won't be personally putting in any more power, if he spins a bit...

still not to sure what to make of bosch ebike system

Cadence has nothing to do with power, its just how fast the cranks are spinning. If you drop the chain off you can spin at 100-150rpm with ease, so the bigger you make the gear the harder achieving any cadence becomes. So if you're trying to achieve 80ish RPM cadence, you make the front cog...

and clearly you'd never suggest a Bosch bike, because you don't understand them and can't sell them.

Still not sure why you're commentating on a Bosch thread then, when you have no experience of it. Its clear you're just trying to push your product, not support this or other customers on how to get the most out of their drive.

Ok, so maybe this thread isn't for you... or are you just commenting to try to put people off something you don't understand?

Sounds like you need to a) try some Bosch bikes, because it does sound like you don't understand your competition. Bosch are doing very very well in the UK, and its for a number of good reasons. also b), my mother, and her side of the family has zero sporting back ground, I got my cycling legs...

and also remember, if you put out that cadance, it'll give you c600 watts of additional support, which is A LOT. You don't have to put in that cadance to get a lot more power than even professional cyclists can maintain.

Nothing to do with your heart... cadance is about spinning your legs, not about the load / power that is being put through them. My 70+ year old mum, who's just had hip surgery, can beat me up steep hills in the Cotswolds on a Bosch Active line bike, when I'm on my normal road race bike...

Here is a useful graph that might help explain what I mean... and some explanation I've just found on the wonderful world wide web. "nteresting graph here from a German Discussion Forum. Note that this was measured before Brose's latest Motor Update which is said to have increased it's...

You need to spin more with Bosch... look at the little black bar chart on the side of the display, if this isn't at the top, the Bosch motor isn't helping you at its max potential. Change down a few gears and go at a faster cadence (not more power) just spin and see if it works.

This is I'm afraid my point, its not up to you or me to decide. There is a vehicle class for mobility scooters. https://www.gov.uk/mobility-scooters-and-powered-wheelchairs-rules/rules-for-class-3-invalid-carriages If its outside these then, its a car. Same with eBikes / Pedelecs. There is...

This shouldn't happen, you have to learn how to ride them and get the best out of the motor. Cadance is crucial and keeping it high means you can spin up pretty much anything, way way faster than a normal bike. You just need to use the gear to help the motor do its work efficiently. You can't...

A trekking mtb. Do they exist?

All our KTM hardtail eMTB's have the ability to have panniers on the back, and an integrated kick stand mount to ensure stability when stationary. We do them in 29, or 27.5 wheel size, so they come with mtb tyres but its very easy to change them to something less agressive, and you've got a...

    Is this true.

I don't disagree with your point, but what I'm saying is the law has to draw a line in the sand, and with pressure from the cycling industry and the motorbike industry, the line is being drawn here. We might not agree with it, or we might argue that the planet, society and individuals would...

This is me being blunt, so I apologise. What you want is a motorbike, what you don't want is to pay tax / insurance etc, so you want the benefits of a motorbike without the costs. This is the loophole the motorbike industry is trying to stop, hense the new rules... if it can move without...
