    New to ebikes

Hello Apprentice:) Don't think you can go far wrong with Bosch, but as D8ve said, test rides are all important. Some of the bikes I thought I'd love turned out to not be for me, and similarly ones I 'thought' were a bit staid, were actually very impressive and nice to ride. Gaz

    Cycle Commute below zero?

Also my first winter on an e-bike and it's been between zero and -4 all this week, and I'm still enjoying it:). I'm wearing a big padded rainproof coat with cuffs inside the sleeves (great invention!) and was really pleased to find gloves that fit me (big puddies) in Halfords a few weeks ago...

I asked them nicely, but they didn't listen.

I've been told it's no longer legal to make pies out of people or feed them to hungry pigs. Apparently. It's probably something to do with food safety:rolleyes: Oxygen thieves. G

"Sorry, he has a problem with his eyes!" says the passenger.

Bloody Hell !!!:rolleyes: How are you? (Apart from feeling fortunate) And your bike? Needs reporting to Sussex Police IMHO. Due care and attention at the very least. Might be an honest mistake, but if something's impairing their ability to drive safely..... Gaz

Recommend me a new front light

Was looking at the Moon and Cateye Volt 1200's but this ticks all the boxes, so I've ordered one and splashed out on next day delivery. Cheers FUL :D Gaz

Recommend me a new front light

After overnighting in a drying environment, the battery appeared to be charging, so I left it on charge. On my way home tonight the light switched on, rear button illumination went from green to red in about 20 seconds and the light went off after about 25 seconds. Harrumph. Fairly conclusive...

Choosing a bike for a tall guy (over 6')

I'm 6'4" and a bit (36" inside leg), and am riding a standard large framed Whyte Coniston, which is comfortable for me. The Wisper 905's were also a comfortable fit. If you can get the distances between the pedals, seat and hand grips right, the frame size itself gets less important. Gaz

    Hi

Hello Bolt:) Best to go try some out to get a feel for what you want and need. There's such a lot of choice, it's the only way to know for sure. Happy hunting. Gaz

    hello

Hello John I'm with you - it's all a bit bonkers if you ask me. Some years ago I worked for a charity and did some legal investigatory work around Class 3 mobility scooters (those that can do 8mph and be road-going). The facts were similar about registration, the government all but said they...

Recommend me a new front light

So I managed to charge the battery twice. Tonight it was proper piddling down on my way home and everything got wet. Including the battery, and the terracotta coloured card bits at each end. Dried it out, but now it won't charge, so I guess it's deddered:rolleyes: Back to square one. Gaz

    Is E the answer?

I've got both an e-bike and a Brommie. As a choice between catching the bus or riding my e-bike, the e-bike's gonna win every time. This gets re-iterated every time I cycle past a bus, or bus stop with people waiting at it. Gaz

    Hello

I've been riding in all weathers and a decent set of mudguards was a must for me as I commute to work. Unfortunately (for me), I went for the OEM mudguards for my bike and the front one falls short and doesn't stop spray getting to my battery, motor, footwear and the bottom of my trousers, so I...
