Yes I should have asked, but didn't know what a double rim was until now. I have sent it back as it was very flimsy and not good quality. I wouldn't even have used it on a non elec hybrid bike. As I am spending a lot on the kit, want a decent rim. Will search for a better one.

So do I have to bin this wheel and get a double walled one, as there is no point ordering spokes if this rim is not suitable?

Above rim arrived today but it is only single wall and no mention of ERD on it. Will it be suitable or do I need a double wall? I could use my original rim as it is double walled, but only 32 holes !

Thanks for that I’ll have a look tomw what B.B. my specialised has. Just checked, it has a square taper one, so dual hall needed. Will remove speed sensor from my shopping list too.

Thanks. I am more interested in range rather than power. As said initially, I want at least the power of my Carrera E but a little more top speed and range is the aim. I get 30-40 miles out of the Carrera and max 15mph. I should imagine that the Q128c 48V 201rpm motor and the PSW power 48V...

That sounds like the thing to do, as if anything goes wrong with the most expensive component, nearer is better. I do not know what controller to use as yet. I believe a 17A or 20A is best? Not interested in a throttle, just pedal assist, so I believe brake cut off therefore not required.

Good find. Rim ordered. Just waiting for it to arrive so I can get ERD and try to work out what spokes I need. I was looking at ordering the battery with the motor to save on total postage. Is the attached battery with Panasonic cells as it isn’t clear! Is that the right motor at 48v 201rpm?

Which one should be ok.? What is ERD?

They seem like good options. I could lace if myself with the help of YouTube and then take the along somewhere to have the wheel trued. How do I know what size spoke to order? What are good ones, black preferably?

If I went for the motor only as it saves $100 just in postage, how much would I be looking at to buy a decent 700c rim and have it built?

So is it best to order the 36v or 48v from the drop down list or are they the same.? Am I looking at the right one from BMS at $128 for the complete 700c rear wheel.? How much will it cost when it gets here with all the charges etc? I like the fact that it is black. Matches the bike!

Is there a facility on the rear wheel to attach the brake disk? I wouldn’t use a throttle anyway, just want it for pedal assist. Pity they don’t do the rear wheel kit in black, to match the rest of my bike, hence why the BMS one ‘looks’ good.
