    KTM Macina Cross problem

You might want to double check the precise kind of grease required to effect the repair. As copper grease is more a high temp anti-seize grease i.e motor vehicle brakes and nuts & bolts etc.

 Compromise ;) and agree to get a new mattress for a couple or three hundred then reclaim the savings to put towards your new bike…. :D

    Cycle Paths

Same down in Colchester, there's been a considerable investment in cycle paths but come of them have similar hazardous low kerbing. This caught me out when my front wheel grazed against the kerb sending me into a 'tankslapper' somehow I stayed on but some how my upper ankle had got sawn up by...

    Bosch or Panasonic motor system?

Weight is 21Kg (from KTM website) and while heavier than my old Giant Escape hybrid (non powered) once on the move and underpower you don't notice, much like a motorcycle. I have to lift it on & off trains and over pedestrian bridges and up steps sometimes which I can do without giving myself a...

    Bosch or Panasonic motor system?

The Panasonic hub drive (KTM eRace P29) flies up hills with no problem (I'm 13 st and with a backpack of stuff) - Any hills around Colchester I can do at an indicated 14-15mph usually accelerating up em and changing up gear even into headwinds! I wrote my impressions of testing a few different...

    Discounted old model bikes.

I bought a used KTM ex-demo 2014 at a discount from the UK distributor and I'm happy - if a bike is from 2011/12 then they've been sitting around for a while then you're right to ask questions...

    E-mopeds,e-scooters,legality?

Quick question out of curiosity. Would a Sinclair C5 (250W, 45Kg, pedal assisted) require registration, insurance and number plates? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-28219291 http://2nd-gear.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/specifications-for-sinclair-c5-electric.html

The Trek 7.5 FX - DuoTrap S linked to in post no. 10 is specced for "Bontrager Nebula, carbon forks" - Not sure if they're recommended for squeezing in a front wheel motor.

    'Motoped' - idea from US

Not pedelec electric but an interesting idea for cheaply pootllng about on - Slap a C90 motor in and hit the cycle lanes ;-) Should be cheap to run - classed as moped (if 50cc) so easy to insure, MOT etc. http://rideapart.com/2014/06/shut-take-money-motoped/

    Ebike on train

On intercity trains (as least in East Anglia) aim for the carriage marked with the disabled logo, where there's space for bikes. Otherwise I just wedge it in the area in front of the doors and move it when necessary. In the old days there was the guards van at the back the train - not sure if...

    Electric bike blog spam?

Problem is 180.211.187.175 is in Bogra, Rajshahi in Bangladesh and probably a compromised PC / Internet cafe PC / or hacked website server all operated remotely as a bot net or sumfink - a tad difficult to prosecute...
