Go Faster Dongles! Here's another to consider

Bosch soon came up with a way of stopping that mod on early Bosch motors. Later ones give an error code.

Mine is now showing only 4.8 miles for some reason Phill, 620 hours use.

Kalkhoff Agattu premium 8 - chain moving without pedalling

I'll assume you have a freewheel at the crank just like a Bosch. All Nexus and Alfine hubs are like that, because the freewheel on the crank offers less resistance than the one on the hub that's where it freewheels. If it was a normal bike it would freewheel at the back with your feet on the...

e-bikes are great for tackling all those steep climbs that you just wouldn't ride on an ordinary bike, they take some of the effort out of it all.

    Shimano Alfine service

My friend dropped her Dahon Cadenza folding MTB off with me to do the front wheel bearing, I've cleaned them up and attempted to save the hub, hopefully it'll be okay. Next the headstock was almost solid, the lower race was worn out, new headstock now fitted. Next the bottom bracket had play...

Kudos Rapide gets 108 miles out of a 10.4 Ah battery.

In a similar vein to these Woosh, Kudos battery range claims I want to talk about KTM speed, when I took my Macina Cross on the motorway I found it easy to maintain a 70 mph speed. In the back of my van of course. :p

Kudos Rapide gets 108 miles out of a 10.4 Ah battery.

Nope 25 wh per mile with no throttle and a standard low power Bosch. Just like the length of string question.

    Whoosh Karoo quick Review

You must ride for the majority of time above the assist speed? and then I wonder if there's any point to having electrical assistance?

Just so you know there aren't actually any seals at either end of the pedal crank shaft.

Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro/Bosch CX 500wh

That's what I thought, so the crank axle on the new Bosch motors is alloy? Off topic I'm now dealing with things that stopped me being keen on letting the kids do cyclocross. Don't hubs have rubbish seals these days, whatever happened to the days of proper rubber seals? Back to school bike...

Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro/Bosch CX 500wh

Is that the motor mounts you're talking about, rather than the crank axle(of sorts) ends?

Wow! That flew right over my head!

Very few e-bike folders are either compact (when folded) or light. I'd think about a normal folder for the occasional use you describe. Or go the whole hog and buy a normal e-bike and commit to doing the whole journey by bike, 7.5 miles isn't very far really. Or two bikes, ordinary cheap folder...

    Top Speed WR

Of no real relevance to you, but thought it might be of interest, I clocked just shy of 60 mph into the Goyt valley, and the bike felt perfectly stable. I've seen a few high speed electric bicycles on Youtube, have you looked there?

Looking for advice on a bike that could cover a 50 mile distance with ease

Incredible, I get about a third of that on some rides and even then have to run on lower power settings, full power would see me get about 25 miles or less. Guessing you don't climb 6000ft in those 100 miles?

Looking for advice on a bike that could cover a 50 mile distance with ease

Sadly that doesn't really give any indication of feet climbed? I'll hazard a guess that it's pretty flat where you are. I can only dream of getting that sort of range. Oh and here's one of those facts that adds nothing, my house is at 800 feet ASL.

Looking for advice on a bike that could cover a 50 mile distance with ease

Something like the Giant stands the best chance, but then an ordinary racing bike may even be better. I changed the tyres on my KTM Macina coss hybrid bike last week. I've gone from a chunky 40 mm Schwalbe to a 32 mm Continental - nothing fancy just a treaded Reflex city tyre. It has made a...
