    Routine service of GSM kit

the gearbox of the GSM is similar to those in the 8-Fun BBS01 and BBS02, so I assume that the same grease can go on both. The subject was discussed here earlier: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/bbsxx-maintenance-intervals.23364/#post-293466 Basically, the nylon gear needs special grease...

Increasing the range on my Zephyr CDN

it's a jack type but you don't find them normally on ebay. Ask Andy @ woosh to make the lead for you.

    Big Bear or zephyr-B.

Increasing the range on my Zephyr CDN

yes, that will work but would you need 15AH? I would have thought that the 11.6AH would be plenty.

Increasing the range on my Zephyr CDN

yes, but how are you going to fit the spare battery though?

    Xiongda Hub Motor

the woosh zephyr-b shows pretty much what can be achieved in a format similar to your Paratrooper. I like riding it in the woods. The combination of a well tucked in rear wheel, a rear powerful BPM, throttle and hydraulic brakes makes it very easy to control power precisely on muddy tracks and...

    Big Bear or Cadence

I would choose the Zephyr-B for its well balanced weight distribution, comfort and power. Riding it is like driving a BMW. It's very good in the woods and superb on rough terrains etc. Yes, it's foldable, but just. I would certainly not take it in the underground, or carry it inside the car...

Bike is due for replacement (again). Best commuter for £1,000

I don't think you'll find a price drop. The prospect of Brexit has caused the Pound to drop to currently 7 year low. For your diistance, height and weight, I would suggest the Woosh Karoo. http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?karoo You still need to replace the Karoo's kevlar tyres with puncture proof...

    New Gtech ebike

I think the real weakness of the Gtech is in it having only one gear. You either like its single gear or not. Most people prefer having gears.

    Big Bear or Cadence

No. The wheels on all the 2-fold bikes won't stay parallel when folded. To wheel the bike, you need both wheels parallel and free to move forward and backward. This means that the design needs to lift the rear wheel from the ground because the chain mechanism will stop it from moving backward...

    I wonder why..

I found that the SR NCX seat post is pretty good in providing a degree of suspension without the usual drawbacks of a front and/or rear suspension.

Is it possible to derestrict Volt bikes?

if you want a Chinese bike with tapered power at over 15.5mph, get a bike with a LED display instead of LCD.

I own a Nissan Leaf ev, and considering an electric bike

at present, infrastructure installations are suitable for small scale EV user base but can't really be scaled up to meet future demand when fast charging batteries are on all EVs. When I try to compare the cost of clean diesel technology against the cost of grant for the purchase of an electric...

    Which kit?

If hillclimbing is important, I would have gone for a crank drive or a 250W BPM (SWX02 to SWX08). CD gives you the full range of your derailleur, BPM motors are based on a much better proven technology. The XD gearbox switches to higher ratio when the motor reverses. It has indeed two gearboxes...

Is it possible to derestrict Volt bikes?

nobody says that you can't go over 15.5mph, but you should do so under your own steam, with assistance withdrawn (that's what the protection is for) or at least reduced to just compensating for the extra weight of the electrics.

Is it possible to derestrict Volt bikes?

Volt should be congratulated to password protect their bikes, it's for the good of their customers as much as theirs. A protected bike will last longer because it is used well within what it is designed for. A good example that other suppliers should follow.

they shift emission to another place where fewer people suffer from, which is good but they harm the environment in other ways through manufacturing their batteries and disposal of the latter.

    Haibike sDuro HardSeven - Rusting

don't ever use WD40 on your chain. WD stands for 'water displacement' - that's what WD40 does. Although it has a small amount of lubricant (about 3%), good enough for household items like garden shears and locks, it's not very good as a lubricant. It dissolves grimes and dirt quite well because...

    ''Flux:The Tesla of Electric Bikes''

yep, nothing new on this bike. the bike shows what an average Chinese factory can assemble for you for $700-$800. The HDBs don't have sensors and they replace the non-suspended fork with a £130 SR Epicon air fork for the review.

A good, reliable folding bike or other - budget £1400
