Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

Northumberland have got £2.3M funding for cycle route upgrades including (maybe) a Dutch style roundabout https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/north-easts-first-dutch-style-20704777 As someone who has spent many years cycling in that area this sounds like a huge waste of money...

Ebike charging using Street EV chargers for electric cars

Putting this here rather than start a new thread, a neat idea if you rent a "bike & battery" package, I'd not want to swap my new & well looked after battery for one with an unknown history. Hot-swappabe battery exchange base station ?

Yose Power kits in the UK

Hi. I bought from Yose last year (German warehouse?), not sure if you know but after Brexit they created a UK-only Yose. I'm guessing you have been speaking to the UK store not the EU one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/ysbatteryuk Just a thought, sending from UK to EU is a nightmare as you are...

PAS sensor on Shimano ISIS Cranks.

Hi, I'm using a temporary solution for now on my hollowtech axle, I'm expecting a parts delivery today with the bits I need to make it permenant. Some background & suggestions on this thread https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/advice-on-choosing-the-right-kit-please.41155/ Hope it helps...

Best companies to order kit from in the UK?

@Moecycle - good to know it got to you ok, the rules seem to be sending goods from EU into UK *should* be checked but it has been said that would cause food shortages & chaos (so UK gov't have decided not to implement any additional checks after Brexit). The delays and customs delays are when...

Best companies to order kit from in the UK?

As said above, shipping from UK to EU is now a nightmare so I'd avoid buying in the UK unless you aready live there. A parcel is on it's way to me from UK, it has been stuck at a sorting office near Paris for several days and I'm getting concerned. It may just be slow due to volume of shipments...

    It arrived

Poorly worded on my part but it sounds like you've already worked out - you just need to square the drop out enough to match the profile of the axle, making it fully square would introduce a stress riser / weak point.

HELP. My ebike motor is not spinning

Check all wiring connections are pushed fully home - I did something on my bike and the motor stopped working, I thought it I'd damaged something but it was just one of the connectors had worked loose when i was working on the bike. Easy to fix once I'd found the problem :)

    It arrived

Hi, I've had to "square off" the bottom of the slots on a couple of rear dropouts, not had to widen any (or fitted a Bangfang, or worked with titanium). Maybe wait for advice from one of the more experienced folk on here before deciding the best way forward. Hope it works out the way you want...

    Solo elderly tourer

HI and welcome. If you like the bike you have, it;s not too difficult to convert it to electric using a kit. To monitor heart rate I use a Huawei "Band3 Pro" fitness braclet but there are plenty of others. Some background https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/fitness-trackers.31349/ Have...

Stolen Raleigh Motus Tour Electric Bike from outside Sainsbury’s in Stapleford, Nottingham on Saturday 27th February 2021 at 2.30 pm

I always lock the bike to by chaining the frame & wheels to something solid. The nuses lock would be a very poor quality duplication of something I already do so it's pointless and was never used - I removed it so there's no chance of idiots locking it while I wasn't watching. Personal choice...

Advice on choosing the right kit, please.

Hi, I've converted a bike similar to yours (hollowtech crank, hydraulic brakes), some info in my thread https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/yose-350-rear-hub-kit-transplanted-onto-scott.40186/ Hollowtech. To test things I adjusted my gearchanged (easy job) so the smallest front gear cog...

Ebikes and the Unfit Very Heavy Rider - A Cautionary Tale for Newcomers

Hi Bob, congratulations on your progress. I found my earlier rides were held back by a lack of confidence & fitness, both improved a lot last year due to regular rides on the ebike. It sounds like you are finding the same :) Since I was a kid I have been strongly against compulsory cycle...

4th Wisper on order, what to do with the old ones…

Hi Chris, not something I can help with but for background I was very grateful to pick up a cheap non-working Ebike last year just to have a project to keep me occupied and as a way to learn more about Ebikes. I've had very good dealings with people on this forum so either advertise the bikes on...

What do you do to prevent theft of your e-bikes/battery?

A decent chain locked onto something immovable, normally through the frame & back wheel. Swap the quick release seatpost clamp for a bolt up clamp. I know the front wheel can be removed in seconds and is vulnerable. Battery is never removed, bike gets charged in the garage and kept either there...

Q100cst from BMS. I requested the 201rpm motor but they have sent the 328rmp motor

@wheeliepete just for info, I've had no messages yet but it's the weekend so no surprise. Timing is critical for me as I'm overseas. A UK mate sends me a supply parcel twice a year, my next parcel is already wrapped and will be posted on Monday - any changes now would mean a delay and rewriting...

    Help identifying a motor clutch

Hi, if you can't find a replacement you might be able to get yours working. My bike had been unused for many years and the clutch was locked solid, I stripped the clutch and the 3 locking "barrels" were rusted when they should be free to move. For yours, maybe try squirting a degreaser in your...

Q100cst from BMS. I requested the 201rpm motor but they have sent the 328rmp motor

@wheeliepete thanks for the link, it would have been great if I'd know about this 2 weeks ago as I was looking for a UK supplier and couldn't find one. I know for next time ;)

What do you guys think of Scott bikes?

^ Good advice. I bought a new bike (pre E-bikes) about 10 years ago, Cube were very high on my list until I found a high spec Scott on sale as it was the previous years model. It's now converted to E-bike and parked about 10 ft away from me - I like it a lot, but I'm sure I'd also have been...
