Yose 350 rear hub kit - onto Spanish mtb by Mondraker

I finally got the package of bits a mate in the UK had been collecting together for me - the new tyres are obvious, and my “ convert Lishui to KT” bundle is near complete - I just need a LCD3 display or similar (pm me if you have a spare ;) ) Tyres link...

Help! How to DIY an unstealable bike

Use a rear motor & rack mounted battery, fit very scruffy pannier bags. Add bright bits at the front of the bike to draw attention away from the motor & battery area. Bike will be tail-heavy but also look normal apart from the handlebar display...

Replace forks on a Samebike LO26?

I got some basic suspension forks for £20 recently - worth a look to see what else they have http://www.ebaystores.co.uk/bankrupt-bike-parts/Forks-Suspension-/_i.html?_trksid=p4634.c0.m322&_lns=1&_fsub=2988659013&_sid=538207553&

Neighbor asked me not to lock our ebikes, and then insisted that we don't

We had a similar chap at my mothers small block of flats, the tipping point was when he woke me on a Sunday morning to ask what I'd been doing in the garden as it was untidy (I'd thrown out a rotted wooden plantstand that he'd walked past for years but never noticed). We never had problem after...

    First bicycle road accident tonight.

Sorry to hear abut the accident, glad you survived OK. Same as @ttxela, I've had 2 folk crash into my car and offer to pay cash - both were difficult when it came to paying. Both were in the wrong. One accused me of causing the accident after pulling out without looking my direction, the other...

Help! Lishui controller and LCD vs KT controller and LCD

@tunznath ^ Yes please, I saw your update on the "Yosepoewer" thread - I'm very interested how you think the systems compare on the lower power settings.

    Yosepower hub kits.

^ Hi, yes the 4-into cable. Oops typo - it's the lcd I've not found yet. The KT lcd3 seems popular.

    Yosepower hub kits.

Hi, I've been told the controller and display need to be swapped as a pair (both KT or both Lishui) matching harness is also needed. I have a controller & harness on their way to me but no controller lcd yet.

    Yosepower hub kits.

Hi. The Yose kits seem to come with either KT or Lishui electronics, comparisons & my no-load results etc https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/lishui-controller-and-lcd-vs-kt-controller-and-lcd.36444/ Notes about my conversion...

    Yosepower hub kits.

^ Hi, I can't answer the question but if anyone wants to decode these, my hub (36v rear cassette bought 3 months ago) reads: 36EW-G27C H20010219.

Help! Can’t remove Motus hub gear rear wheel due to it fouling on disk caliper.

Hi, difficult to tell but the flat sides of the axle should be in line with the slot the axle fits into. In the 2nd photo it looks like the axle has spun around, this could be what is causing problems. Do you have anti-rotation washers fitted?

Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

Different parts of the uk have very different attitudes about bikes, trying to improve things in popular cycling areas makes sense - but be realistic. From personal experience: Cambridge & Fens : good weather, very flat - lots of bikes, mixed abilities. North Devon & South West : good weather...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - onto Spanish mtb by Mondraker

The bike is in regular use. Pic shows the kit, collecting 2x 5ft lights, inflatable paddle board on the back rack, and at a nearby pond. All good fun

Yose 350 rear hub kit - onto Spanish mtb by Mondraker

I’m in Algarve, choice here is 50/50 split between SuperBock and Sagres. Bock has a malt taste similar to the dark beers I like in the UK. Grips are diy from a cheap bar towel and some bits of scrap plumbing pipe. Bar ends are same, caps glued onto plugs that fit inside the bars. Just for fun...

Britain's First 'Dutch-Style' Roundabout Closed 10 Days After Opening When Car Ploughed Into Beacon

What a design disaster! A 5 minute video shows lorrys waiting to get onto the roundabout block cycles & pedestrians, cars leaving the roundabout have to stop with dangerously exposed back ends until there's a gap in the cyclists - just a few cycles causes gridlock on the roundabout. The long...

    Key On/Off Switch

Hi. The 2 bikes I've used behave differently, the older one needs the key to turn it on. The newer one is like yours - you can turn it on without the key, key is only needed to remove the battery.

    Front or rear hub motor?

I have a rear hub with rack mounted battery, the bike rides fine but is very tail heavy especially with shopping in the panniers. The rear tyre carries a lot of weight, rear punctures are common but never had a front puncture. I'd expect a down tube battery to give better weigh distribution but...

The Reality of Owning and Maintaining a Pedelec

Brake pads need changing every 2 months (stopping 150kg bike/rider/luggage from 45kmh takes some effort) Planning ahead to get a battery fully charged just before I need it (6 hours to charge the 36v 13ah battery using standard charger) A multimeter & fair understanding of electronics is needed...

Taxpayer-funded electric bikes to get more cyclists on roads

Look at the other government incentive schemes for an idea of what to expect. The "Help to buy" scheme gives first time house buyers a sizeable loan that's intrest-free (for several year) towards the cost of a new-build home. The result is builders have put the price of new-build homes up as...
