    sakura electric bike need info

A good result - glad you got it sorted. For info I bought a very nice but broken bike as a project to keep me occupied, it is now working well but it took a lot of time to fix all the problems. The original batteries were very poor and had to be changed as they went flat in less than 5 miles...

    Gravel bike conversion

Hydraulic brakes - how do you plan to connect the brake cutouts? I guess the battery options are downtube or a frog fitting? Any thoughts? What size are your rims? 26"/700c rims are common, I was told 29er rims were same diameter as 700c but wider (but I've not confirmed) Not relevant if you go...

Decathlon Riverside 500 e price increase

Supply & demand, even before the January 1st problems the prices of bikes / e-bikes had jumped a lot due to lockdown demand. Since Jan 1st add import taxes / customs charges etc...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

I'm running this at 36V for now, but I'd like to try 48V at some point (getting another battery will also mean I have a complete Yose kit spare - and I have plans for that when the time comes ;)) Interesting about 36/48V controllers with a flat 48V battery restarting as a fully charged 36V but...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

It took a while to get everything together but I’m using the 22A controller I got from you last year. All was good on a quick test ride :) Shame I’ve not had the chance to see how it works on a run due to weather. One downside of a nice bike is that every time I take it out I spend more time...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

@PC2017 I got the tyres from Curio and prices were supercheap (£10 each?), I like them a lot. No punctures and they ride very fast - so less battery used on a trip! They are ideal for the routes I use but will have no grip off-road, horses for courses... I've been using the Yose bag and it was...

For Sale: RadRhino 750w Fat-tyre electric bike (excellent condition)

^ @Nealh no argument from me. I thought it surprising the hire shops don't keep 250W bikes but the (well respected) sales shop keeps nothing but 250W. And yes, the area has a high population of Brit tourisits and ex-pats.

Help! Lishui controller and LCD vs KT controller and LCD

I recently swapped my Yose kit from Lushui to KT - not too difficult if you can solder. Remember you need heat shrink on any exposed joints. Remove built-in Lushui controller, desolder the controller wires from the battery plate and replace with longer leads to the new KT controller :)

For Sale: RadRhino 750w Fat-tyre electric bike (excellent condition)

I looked at a couple of Ebike hire shops in Portugal last year as I was thinking about renting something, both shops had bikes starting at 500W and going up, I asked about 250W bikes and got told previous customers always complained they were too slow / underpowered hence shops didn't rent them...

New VAT rules for overseas sellers supplying goods to UK customers - Any experiences yet?

My concern is that they *do* understand the new regulations and have made a business descision to stop selling to the UK rather than become involved with the new system. Their view might change once the new regulations have settled down and everyone (including the relevant governments) has...

Average shipping cost from China to UK?

If you're not after anything specific, maybe start with a new frame from here (UK supplier - many items are surplus stock etc), a quick look says their frames for mid-mount motors start under £90 ;) I keep thinking about one of their cruiser fames just to use up some part i have :cool...

Is it possible to convert a ladies Dutch bike to electric

Hi, I fixed up a neglected Dutch Town bike that was originally elecric and it's very nice to ride. I'm sure yours can be converted to electric. The easy place to fit the battery is on a rack above the rear wheel - anywhere else needs thinking about due to the shape of the frame, and you don't...

Kemp Starley Dutch Town Bike - out of hibernation.

I’m still making (slow) progress, the bike is now in regular use. I still need to tidy the wiring at the controller (in a bag behind the seat for now). It's all good fun

    Lishui controller

There are a few other UK suppliers who might have one in stock, look around the forum and you should find a list of several. You need to make sure the connections on the one you buy match yours, some have a round waterproof "bullet" type, others are a wide flat connector. Also make sure it is...

    Lishui controller

I bought one the same from Yose (Germany?) on Ebay last year, since Brexit they have set up a uk-only ebay shop https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/ysbatteryuk Their uk store is quite new, maybe send them a message and see if they have a controller in stock they can list for you. If ordering from EU or...

New VAT rules for overseas sellers supplying goods to UK customers - Any experiences yet?

@soundwave thanks for the link, a very well presented view of why he stopped shipping to the UK. I'd like to think UK.Gov will realise their new system is preventing UK from purchasing from overseas but I'm not convinced they will reverse or suspend their plans. Time will tell.

New VAT rules for overseas sellers supplying goods to UK customers - Any experiences yet?

It's very early but I saw a response from a USA bike parts (motorbike - not cycle) supplier, he has decided to refuse to process any UK orders under $180. Above this value UK customs handle any duty due - this is business as usual for him. To process orders below this value he would have to...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

I'm using a second hand controller (thanks @PC2017 ) and a new KT-LCD4 display (it was in a sale but I do like the compact layout - especially compared to the larger Lishui & LCD3 screens). Yesterday the speed on the display was about half the speed according to my gps, today I've tried...

    cargo bike conversion

The bike looks very useful, I had an idea of the front forks but wasn't sure about the details. I have a similar hub brake on one of my bikes it works (sort-of) but I understand why you would like to upgrade it. Hopefully somebody else can think of a solution, and make the project work for you :)
