Who was asking about shaft drives?

It's a concept and many think it will stay a concept. On the other hand you can buy a 1 x 13 speed transmission. If you can afford it...

Help! Is there a market for the Wisper Wayfarer?

The rack has to go David! Why mess up a good looking frame with such a horror? Even on a rendering. How about folding pedals and a turning stem as standard so you can make the bike flat for train transport or parking in the hall at the office or at home? As they say the devil is in the detail...

Help! Is there a market for the Wisper Wayfarer?

The bike will retail between £3,500 and £4,500 depending on specs. Looking at the above photo for >3,963€ I would want as standard a Tubus Fly rack, a NCX seat post, a RST mono-shock fork, Hebie chainglider, ergotec trekking handlebar, stem and pedals, b+m lights and decent aluminum mudguards...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

A trading nation that gave up on exporting goods made in said nation. Truly there is a message there is there not?

The Last Wisper Sneak Preview of the year. 12kg Road Bike

I was worried because I was only seeing two. Thought my eyesight was going downhill then I widened the screen, all is well, three of them! :) The text is rather spicy: "Rejoin Tom in this activity" What are you up to with young women in wet-suits Tom? :D

Haibike FLYON bikes with TQ motor

"The chainring is available with 38 teeth for eMTBs and 42 teeth for touring bikes and is mounted to the drive shaft via direct mount." So pedalling like a maniac for a short burst you could probably reach 60 km/h but at my steady 95 cadence 45 km/h. Notice how that is exactly s-pedelec legal...

Haibike FLYON bikes with TQ motor

That speed (75 km/h) would require 52:11 at a cadence of 120 with 27.5" wheels and a 2.35" tyre. Haven't seen many 52 tooth chainwheels on eMTBs tbh... ;)

Giant Full E+2 Replacement Cassette and Chain

Last time I had a close look the motor is offset to the left and the front derailleur is standard so the chainline should be normal?

Orbea Road or All-Road - Which One?

The last time I rode on skinny tyres was August last year. Sure they are faster on acceleration (less mass) but once you are up to speed the comfort of the wider tyre wins hands down and the difference in speed on anything other than a billard table type surface is in favor of the wider tyre as...

    Anti-tuning measures

Which are limited to 25 km/h and allowed on cycle paths or streets but not on footpaths. We are waiting on the first serious accident - little old lady vs scooter - on a footpath to see how that goes in court...

    Anti-tuning measures

Last night out on my ride I crossed paths with a dweeb in a BMW: twice the legal speed (100 km/h instead of 50 km/h) in a corner using a lot more of my half of the road than I was comfortable with. I hope I surprised him and his girlfriend screamed at him but I doubt it. Dweebs with tiny...

    Anti-tuning measures

That is the modern nanny state - think about the start of the 20th century and the birth of various forms of transport, lots of that was done in sheds at the bottom of the garden. Unfortunately where I live they (scooters/mopeds) aren't allowed but they just don't care and use them anyway...

Trekking/Touring Bike - preferably Bosch powered

trying to get up to speed...

PAS is rotation, not cadence. Some (most modern high end) torque systems have both a torque sensor and PAS rotation sensor which can also capture cadence. With a KT 12 magnet PAS disk the motor kicks in after less than a quarter of a rotation. The initial power depends on the assistance level...

    Brexit, for once some facts.
