    Battery Fires

You also have to think about how to mount the battery. You need a case of some sort and a way to fix it to the bike.

I've done that many times and never had a problem. Did you test the halls?

    3-D Printer

Thanks - very much appreciated. It worked this time. You missed out on commission. I just ordered £111. If you used the referral system , you'd have got a percentage of that and every other time I order.

    Battery Fires

We used to use LFP batteries. I had a 36v 20ah one that weight about 6kg. With a motor running at 30A, it would wheely if I didn't open the throttle carefully. That was 14 years ago. The probllem with LFP ebike cells, is that they don't have the quality of the mass produced LMC cells; however...

Difference between 250w and 350w motor

Every hub-motor I've tried could reach the max current given by the controller. The only time when the back emf affects the current is from mid to high speed, depending on how many turns in the motor's coild and the applied voltage. Your theory is correct, but it hardly effects our types of ebike.

    250W motor hub

Why do you want to know? If your motor is making a grinding sound, it's not the gears.

New Bike Spoke Rust - Was I expecting too much?

As I already said, you shouldn't use brass nipples on bright zinc plated spokes. If you had to, you should use a corrosion inhibitor, like Duralac, in the threads. Copper and zinc make a battery. Didn't you do that experiment at school with a copper nail and a zinc galvanised one in a jar of...

    Help please Noise

It's not a motor problem. The controller is losing synchronisation with it under heavy load. This problem is nearly normal when you run a motor sensorless. Yours should be in sensor mode. Is there a setting in the LCD to force it to or choose sensorless mode? You should check that the motor...

    Hi Eleglide M2 with e08 massage .

If you have a throttle, there's a fault with, so check its cables and connectors. If it has its own connector, you can disconnect it and run with pedal assist until you get it sorted.

    Inverter specs

You can do it with one of these if you add the connectors for the car and the battery. Don't forget to set the output voltage to 42.0 and the current to 2.0 amps before connecting to the battery...

    Hailong HL1 36v Batteries - on/off switch - yes or no?

It was a joke. If somebody is healthy and you tell them to get well soon, it has a special meaning. By my joke, I wanted to give the impression that I am indeed totally well. I really appreciate your comments and concern. Sorry my joke backfired a bit. I admit that when I wrote it, I saw the...

Please show a picture of your LCD. Think back. What happened just before you saw that code to cause it? Nothing happens for no reason.

Help! Is an Electric Bike Suitable for Long Mountain Rides?

The problem is that when you have big batteries and fit or carry a second one, you end up with a moped with slow handling and very difficult to ride without power - if you ever have to. This sort of thing works well for some people, but for others it's not the sort of cycling experience you...

    Hailong HL1 36v Batteries - on/off switch - yes or no?

I am well! Are you implying something? Seriously, though, it's very satisfying when members actually do the tests we recommend. What you've done and shown, not just in this thread, explores the problem, bringing info and knowledge to all who will read it. Your knowledge is improving all the...

    Battery woes Oxygen S Cross

I'm running out of ideas, other than it could be your voltmeter or charger. Check the charger voltage, and if it's 40.8v too, figure out which is at fault, charger or voltmeter. A gain of 0.8v is a lot, and would give you a good improvement in range if it was only a few cells low. If it was...

    Hailong HL1 36v Batteries - on/off switch - yes or no?

You can also use jumper leads, which are slightly more convenient and can be used to make cell voltage measurement easier. Cut them in half to have male and female: https://hobbycomponents.com/cables/121-20cm-male-to-female-solderless-dupont-jumper-breadboard-wires-40-cable-pack

They can weld together on the first attempt. It depends exactly which switch.

    Throttle wiring

I have an answer to the throttle. I'm kicking myself. This controller has the old big white connector in another group that includes the 3-pin brake and old type two-pin brake. The wires are a bit weird in that group, as they're all looped to each other inside the sleeve. It never occurred to me...

Help! Is an Electric Bike Suitable for Long Mountain Rides?

Not all ebikes are the same. Some are designed for commuting, some for city riding, some for touring and some for specific things, like riding off road, mountain climbing, going fast, easy to store, etc. Those things are not mutually exclusive. Every bike can do all of them to a greater or...
