    Q128 motor strip down

I had to use the vice method to open up my q128c. No way was that cover shifting using a home made tool (m5 cap head screws not man enough) I too have had hall failures, along with pawl failures & a side cover shearing. These all occurred within 100 miles of new, across a couple of motors...

What's the deal with frequently broken spokes?

I’ve a suspicion spokes snapping can be due to the absence of grease at the nipple thread. A Halfords build wheel (Boardman) was cured of its tendency to snap spokes, both front & rear, by rebuild with grease

Needs to go on a diet

Devise a way to have the battery easily removable, then lift the bike over in 2 lumps. Reassemble on the other side

My dahon vigor + TSDZ2 build

Impressive! I took a more minimalist approach on my dahon folder - just battery & bbs01 lump installed (dispensed with display / throttle/ brake sensors)

The alarm can still fit under one of the recently on sale Lidl saddles- the alarm just needs to be installed upside down

Can I use this adapter to mount 2 chainrings on BBSO1?

I couldn’t find a way of mounting even a single chainring to one of these adaptors, let alone 2. Bit the fiscal bullet and went with a 52t bling ring in the end, never looked back

    Lights for Bafang BBS01 250W 36V kit

Good point And also, in my experience, BBS controllers are not particularly fault tolerant. The lleast devices (especially cheapo stuff) plugged into the controller, the better

    ebike build from scratch

For chain jump, try reducing the b dimension as far as possible - even if it means relieving the b screw landing face on the derailleur hanger (by hacksaw or grinding) . This mod has always worked for me to cure chain jump

    New Q128C Motor locked..

I think full depth dropout is essential to preserve derailleur operation -zooming in on your picture, I don’t think the axle is fully seated at the bottom of the drop out. Also, your dropouts look too shallow to accept the supplied tab washers, so torque arms are a must

36v hub conversion - fast commuter

You’ve guessed correct - just for fun & experience. The hub drive offers a slightly different riding experience and it’s nice to alternate between the two drive types. The bbs01 actually lives on in a second boardman conversion in the garage :) I’m hoping the Q128C is a bit lower maintenance -...

36v hub conversion - fast commuter

Here’s the finished product, bbs01 removed, and 500w 328rpm Q128C laced into a matching mavic xm319 36 spoke rim. BMS battery 20A controller fitted under downtube. Pas left in 9 full time, I know not all forum members approve of this :) Certainly makes her lively whilst filtering through...

But surely if the punter pays the commission then Hatti wouldn't have an issue with cyclescheme.co.uk?

    Boardman - bbs01

Pinched from corner of deansgate / John Dalton street in central Manchester, the afternoon of Saturday 11/11/17. CCTV gave no clues sadly. Locked up with an Oxford armoured cable lock (not the u lock shown in the picture) - lock was taken also

    Commuter bike

How about if I were to request a certificate value 10% higher in value, to cover the cyclescheme admin fee? I did this successfully last year with a different ebike kit supplier Alternatively, I'd be happy to make a separate cash payment to cover the cyclescheme 10% fee

Any chance of a picture showing *how* they squeezed the controller into battery space?

OH NO!! Brand New & Error 30

My first bbs01 motor has chewed up two controllers - both resulting in a 30 error. The first failed after 8 miles, it's replacement failed after about 1000 miles. Ive a suspicion there's an intermittent fault within the motor causing the 30 controller failure, but don't have a clue where to...
