How much drag above 15.5 mph on your crank drive ebike?

Motors with normal sized chainwheels have the least amount of perceived drag, my speedo is often at 32 km/h without me noticing. I ride without the motor on and you do notice the weight of the bike but there is no noise from the motor freewheel or bearings so a minimal amount of drag.

More current wanted, best/cheapest controller with LCD?

Don't believe everything you read on Chinese e-commerce sites ;) d8veh explained in an old post when I was starting out the physics behind needing an even number.

    no need for high cadence

Comfort. I am happy at 90 -> 100, especially on the trike. Here is a graph done by boffins in white coats showing the sweet spot is between 82 and 94 for most people: Not that you can produce more power pedalling backwards then forwards. Now there is a design challenge for bike builders! :)

More current wanted, best/cheapest controller with LCD?

Correct 6 or 12 mosfets being most common sine wave controllers.

    Basic Sans charger mods/adjustments.

Here is the discharge curve for the popular Samsung 30Q See how the curve drops very quickly after 4.2v? About 4.15v it flattens out so going any lower will extend life somewhat but you will lose too much useful capacity, 4.0v is definitely too low. You will need to know the tech specs of...

Does getting an e-bike mean you eventually give up "conventional" bikes??

My standard "on the flat" fitness ride is 30 km (up from 27 km last year) and I hope to get back to doing it twice a week. Last year I was averaging 32 km/h at peak fitness so you can see the motor will be mostly extra weight with the cut off set to 25 km/h. I am still feeling yesterdays ride...

You are contradicting yourself, you started on "we" are much better off, and it is a fact. I put "we" in quotation marks because I started out better of and slowly worked down the ladder. I am not better off but I have better quality of life.

Apples aren't perishable, that might be the answer you are looking for. The French ones will have been harvested last year and the NZ ones will be from this years early harvest.

Does getting an e-bike mean you eventually give up "conventional" bikes??

I just got back from my first trike ride (un-powered) since September. I am out of shape... My problems are the first km and the last km, they have brutal slopes (think >13%) so on the way out I am not warmed up and on the way home I am knackered. At 64 this year I think that I am entitled to a...

I didn't see the post, I get up late. I dont't report posts other than spam to the moderators (thick skinned). Now that is cleared up and reading above: The dump I live in is RC2012 standard energy efficient, the central heating has been on twice in February, this morning it froze outside and...

I flirted with money for a while but decided seeing my kids grow was not compatible with 70 hour working weeks so worked 35 hour weeks instead. That didn't go down well with the bank... Having had stuff - the nice car, the beach cat, motorbike etc., etc. - I am much happier now without. Today...

You can buy a borda - Basque barn in the mountains - on 3.5 hectares for 20k €. Often no running water, no electricity but you wouldn't want to live there between December and May. For 400€ a month I would prefer investing in a cargo trike and doing deliveries to help prop up the tiny pension...

Problem is that is a load of bull and has been called out as bull by many economists since it was published. Bill Gates giving lessons on poverty? That is a bit rich (pardon the pun)... Life has improved for the mega rich since Reagan and Thatcher. It has gotten worse for all those who had...
