    Volt range of e-bikes.

As I said previously I have been approached by several people who showed interest, commenting on how neat a bike the Infinity was. One admitted that he had just had a "good deal" with a High Street company so he took it up but after seeing the Infinity his comments were "well you get what you...

    Volt range of e-bikes.

So you've already got two Volt bikes and have done 1,500 miles. You should be telling us about them, not the other way around. I was looking for opinions etc from other users in order to compare notes.

    Volt range of e-bikes.

Hi Tommie, I do know the dealer in Castlewellan and what a place to have a test ride!!! Hills?? Just a bit. We actually used our local dealer in Belfast and bought an Infinity for me and a Pulse for my wife. Only 1500 miles so far but well pleased. I can only say that they are excellent in just...

    Volt range of e-bikes.

I have only been using various electric bikes for fifteen years so I am a bit of a novice compared to you guys, I was just interested in any Volt bike owners and what their experiences were. I have found a thread but it isn't a new one and there have been several model additions since then. As...

Police say electric bikes illegal in Northern Ireland

Already done. Had a reply from them as well which I noted in a previous post.

Police say electric bikes illegal in Northern Ireland

When we lived in England I had a Powabyke which had pedals and throttle. It could be ridden all day on throttle power to a maximum of 15mph. There was no need to pedal. It could be pedalled if required as a normal bicycle but it was not necessary. If it was illegal I was never told nor was I...

Police say electric bikes illegal in Northern Ireland

If this does become the case here then it could be said that it would apply in the rest of the UK as well. England, Scotland and Wales e-bike riders would be subject to the same ludicrous tax, insurance and licencing regulations as us via registrations with the DVLA.

Not a bad day for getting out there. :)

Yes we had been using the extensive and excellent tow path network to the Titanic Quarter, Bangor, Portadown and Newry etc and they are much preferable to roads but as you say we would need our car adapted with towbar and strong carrier as our bikes are heavy. We felt this was unnecessary and...

Not a bad day for getting out there. :)

As you will have seen on several threads there is certainly a pickle - or fiasco - or indeed debacle in this small part of the UK. One of the many in common use in the Bickering Capital of Great Britain. The bottom line is that the police will have been informed that this law, which has been...

Police say electric bikes illegal in Northern Ireland

In addition to a reply and reassurances from a leading political party I have now received a reply from the Green Party in Northern Ireland and I am assured that they have written to the Chief Constable, the Secretary of State and the DVLA on the issue of e-bike legality here so I am grateful...

Police say electric bikes illegal in Northern Ireland

I have given my word and I must adhere to it. Trust me that if and when this debacle is resolved I will print what I was told in confidence. I am not into fantasy, what I was told is true but at present I am not going to furnish Nolan with more potential programme material because at this point...

Police say electric bikes illegal in Northern Ireland

Another sunny day Tommie as you will see. Such a waste now for those of us who can't walk properly. I wish I was allowed to print what I was told on Friday by a leading E-bike supplier in England. It would send Nolan into apoplexy.

Police say electric bikes illegal in Northern Ireland

Yes and it was 100% more than I got back from another MP who appeared to previously assure us that he was on our side in this debacle. No reply or acknowledgment at all.

Police say electric bikes illegal in Northern Ireland

I did (to several) and had a reply from one SENIOR politician who assured me that the anomaly will be addressed as soon as Stormont resumes in whatever capacity. Quote - In the light of your concerns and those raised by others I have written to the secretary of state for Northern Ireland...
