    New site

Having covered 9,000+ miles on my ProConnect and another 5,000 on my ProConnect S feel that the status lines are rather limited. I certainly have FOUND my (electric) wheels!

    Website update is bad

What an awful update. What was the matter with how it was. Now it's gaudy, and takes far more space up for each message on my tablet. I DO NOT LIKE THIS! Someone should start a poll going - I would but haven't set one up before. Mike

    Freego Eagle for sale

Totally off topic but..... I notice the picture of your bike has a backdrop of a Fiat Ducato. Have you carried the bike in the back of it? I'm looking for a suitable vehicle to carry two Kalkhoff ProConnects in the back - out of the weather and wondered if something like the Fiat would be...

Problem with switch on Kalkoff ProConnect in rain?

Anyone have experience with water ingress into handlebar control switch on a Kalkhhoff ProConnect / Agattu? We were out today and unusually got caught in the rain. (We're allowed to get wet but not the Kalkhoffs). My wife has a 2008 step thru ProConnect. When we returned to the bikes after lunch...

Kalkhoff Pro Connect on eBay - Aberystwyth

Think you're right. The front wheel is a 24 spoker. The ad says the rear wheel/hub was rebuilt by 50cycles recently for £100 and new gear change fitted for £35 and it looks like 36 spokes. Reckon my wife's Pro Connect from the same era was a variant, they must've started changing the step thru'...

Kalkhoff Pro Connect on eBay - Aberystwyth

Think this is a 36 spoke variety. We bought 2 Pro Connects around that time. Mine was a diamond frame with 28" wheels which were the 24 spoke variety. However, my wife's step thru Pro Connect had 26" wheels and 36 spokes. Touching wood, I've not had any problems with the 24 spoker after 7,000...

    Hi from Ferndown, Dorset

Hi John. Welcome to the forum. Will keep an eye out for you - always good to bump into other pedelecs (tho' not literally!;)). We are often seen on the Castleman Trailway or Hurn Forest to Avon Country Park on our various Kalkoffs. We are based in Bournemouth. Mike

    Slime is it any good??

Agree with most of the other replies. My experience is the same, Slime's a waste of time and messy and the plastic Slime insert chaffes and cuts the inner tube. The only real 'solution' is Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres or ones of a similar spec.

Kalkoff Batteries -4 years on and still going strong

My wife and I both have had Kalkoff Pro Connect's for nearly four years now and I have always recorded our distances and battery performance/ recharges. We've covered about 6,500 miles and my battery has been recharged 61 times and my wife's 55 times. I generally recharge when 3/2 lights are...

Check your rear car bike rack before buying a E bike

Have travelled many hundreds of miles with a ProConnect diamond frame and Pro connect step thru' on the Euro916 ebike carrier. It's been excellent with absolutely no problems. Previously had another Thule carrier on which the ends folded inwards for storage. Again no problems and travelled...

Every Death on Every Road - 1999 to 2010

WOW! Found the density of cyclist deaths in Bournemouth (21 cyclists out of a total of 49 deaths in the period) alarming!! Significantly higher 'hit' rate than Liverpool for instance. Around the A3040/A347 line into Bournemouth centre being particularly awlful (6) for what is a suburban road...

A decent alarmed chain lock for under £20.00 with free delivery.....

Hi Tara Can you give me some idea of the weight of the lock. I'm keen to keep our bikes secure, lock 'em up and seldom let them out of sight when we're out, but conscious of all the weight we always seem to be lugging about with us. Like the look of this as another line of defence.

    Indicators. Winkku.

Blackpanther Maybe a half-way house if you were considering them would be to buy just one (right hand) and then get a left if you had a good experience with it. The ebay ones aren't at any discount, and you have to buy the pair, whereas you may still be able to buy direct from Winkku and can...

    Indicators. Winkku.

My personal thoughts and musings. I've not had a good experience with these indicators, but what they did do was to convince me that rear view mirrors were a great idea and I then went out and bought some for both my bikes and my wife's - just simple rear view mirrors without the 'gimmicks' and...
