Electric Lights - connected to VLCD 5 ontroller or direct to battery

The USB port is a neat idea, and can often supply up to several amps, at 5 volts, sometimes even a tiny tick more! USB power supplies are generally made short circuit proof in my experience, which is also "cool!" Identify maximum allowed load, and stay within that, so as to not overheat the USB...

    Fantastic battery?!

If the OP's voltmeter is a digital one, and it reacts quickly to voltage changes (as a good one does!), it may be a bit unreadable when drawing current/using the motor - sadly! An older "needle" volt meter will possibly be easier to read, as they are often damped, and the weight of the needle...

    Fantastic battery?!

You appear to feel that we all "need an agenda" for posting here. I feel that apparently some here have an "agenda" of being rude to other members..... The original poster has been answered by several here already (go back and check), that the cheaper so called SOC meters/displays are sadly...

    Fantastic battery?!

I feel that you are not reading what I write, your choice of course. It was all explained. At the end of the day, apparently some people (not me) want to know more accurately, exactly what capacity they have left in their battery, e.g. aproximate distance left to ride before a charge is...

    Fantastic battery?!

Unless they use the Coulomb counting method (which a true Watt-meter does not!), they will only be fully accurate when steady or even better, when no current is being drawn. So in normal usage they need heavy "slugging/averaging" of the display to try and reduce the effects of varying current...

    Fantastic battery?!

I found this, this morning, which may assist anyone interested in finding and understanding a better SOC measurement:- https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_measure_state_of_charge Where this can be read, quite far down on that page:- Coulomb Counting Laptops, medical equipment and...

    Fantastic battery?!

For those interested, there is a reasonable explanation here:- https://www.zdnet.com/article/what-is-the-internet-of-things-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-iot-right-now/ I personally find it most useful, usually very informative, and easily understood. Naturally, the internet as a whole...

    Fantastic battery?!

They do make and sell cells and batteries, so they should know quite well what they are doing. Anyway, IMHO the graphic was there so that people could better understand the discharge of a Li-ion battery.....Some obviously do not understand it, sadly! Please take any queries up with the web site...

    Fantastic battery?!

I looked around on the IoT for you, and I am hoping this may help your understanding, as it appears to be fairly accurate:- https://siliconlightworks.com/li-ion-voltage It is important to note that all Li-ion cells, including the Li-ion cells contained in our Mobile Power Centers, are sensitive...

    Fantastic battery?!

I personally like Panasonic cells in my battery, (just by luck) I have never had anything else, or seen anything better. Also, when going from a smaller to a larger capacity battery, of course the larger one (naturally!) has more capacity, its a simple given, as you know, or you wouldnever have...

Help! Intermittent loss of motor power

Sad.....that is an easy one to fix..... So do you think it might be electronics, a bad or corroded connection? Or even a dry joint in the soldering somewhere....? regards Andy

New ebike - Throttle Assist MUCH Faster than 3.5mph

Firstly many thanks for the full explanation, perfect! The throttle is on many bikes here and in the EU generally (EU’s EN15194 ), and reading the EU laws in German, it is very confusing, but I am of the opinion that newer bikes are now not allowed it. So probably some of the local police are...

New ebike - Throttle Assist MUCH Faster than 3.5mph

If I understood you correctly, you are talking/asking about the "assist" for when you are walking the bike, or did I completely misunderstand you? My apologies if that is the case to all concerned. It is usually around 6 KMH as far as I remember, which is 3.7 MPH, a reasonable walking speed for...

New ebike - Throttle Assist MUCH Faster than 3.5mph

New bike, full guarantee, then talk to the supplier. You are due a fix, or a reduction in price, or you can legally require them to take the bike back and give you a 100% return of your money.... Your final choice of course.... Citizens Advice Bureau, UK, should be able to tell you all your...

Help! Intermittent loss of motor power

Possibly chain slip, maybe due to the derailleur spring that keeps the arm back is too weak (did you maybe de-adjust it?), or the chain and gears are worn, or even both? On my previous e-bike with Shimano gears when it got to about 3 years old (high mileage though), it started doing the same and...

Help! My pedelec suddenly got faster (SameBike JG20, YSDX20, XW-20ZC) - long text!

Depending upon how easy your battery is when doing a removal/replacement, a good alternative I find, is to have a second battery with you. On my bike there are 3 different capacities, so I bought a small one as an extra help. I do realise that some batteries are a pain to change, please ignore...

    New battery required

Lots of good advice here already, so may I suggest that possibly a good idea would be to access the chassis number when viewing, photograph it, and check with your local police before giving any money away..... It would be horrible to give good money away and then find out that its stolen....and...
