After a lock in at one of the local pubs last night, and the over indulgance of drink and cheese that followed, I figured that I had best get out in the pouring rain this morning for a detox! Despite being pretty muddy in places, I still can't get enough of riding off road in the rain. The DZO...

    Getech Reliability

No me. ;) Denwyn, as it would appear that they have now taken an active interest in the forum, you could ask them directly on this thread. :) http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/nick-here-from-gtech.26584/page-2#post-350414

Is this the one? https://momentumelectric.com/upstart/ An unbiased review for direct comparison would certainly be very interesting.

Firstly to Electrifying Cycles. Good to see you posting on the forum again. :) "Making a great commuter" could be a rather bold statement to make. ;) I'm another that would be interested in giving the bike a frank and honest review. A like for like comparison against say the Woosh Karoo...

It hasn't been a bad week for getting out and riding. Two night rides, and an afternoon today spent carrying out more trail building along with a bit of riding. One advantage to popping out after a little snow fall is that you get to see more animal trails, and today I spotted a real gem which...

How long should a chain last on a E-MTB

Your disregard and poor attitude toward correct and proper maintenance. By caring for a chain, and replacing regularly, not only do you extend the life of cassette and front sprocket, you also aren't going to end up in a position where a chain is likely to fail when out on a ride.

Summer on the South Downs. :D Thankfully not my bike or photo. This was from an Evans Ride It event.

Good for all the family :)

I seem to recall SRS doing something very similar. :)

It probably would have been easier just to have left the bike at home and walked, but I had an enjoyable morning poking about the new woodland and making a start on formatting some of the down hill sections and trail building. edit.. I forgot to add that although I always carry the kitchen sink...

You have me confused. Are saying that you can't keep pace with pedal mtb riders on climbs when you are riding an eMTB? And 5kph (3.11mph) is exactly the same speed as the average persons walking pace.

If you take a look at the photo that I have just posted above, you will see that the 42t doesn't get overly used, and that is even with two trips to the Alps using that cassette. Good to know that the option is there though, but I'll pass ta. :)

It is the section of the rear derailleur that holds the two jockey wheels in place. You get short, medium and long length cages. The norm for an mtb is either medium or long, but as far as I know anything over a 42t requires a longer cage to accommodate the chain length. Even with a 42t...

42t is low enough for an eMTB. A 48t on an analogue mtb possibly, but there is no need for an eMTB to have it. I'm also not struck on having a long cage either. I already worry enough about striking my medium length cage in narrow gullies.

The guy that you recently let have a go of your bike in a carpark within the Forest of Dean. I think that it was the car park? He said that you were lovely and enthusiastic couple. :)

chris130256, someone has just been signing your praises for letting them try your bike in a FOD carpark recently. :)

    Camera in your pocket thread.

After reading through a recent thread in which the subject of dedicated cameras and smart phone cameras arose, and the interest in them, I figured that we could have a camera in your pocket thread to post up photos of anything and everything as you take them. I'm not really intending to add a...

    new shocks

It might be better not to throw money at the hardtail and sell it to buy something that has full suspension with between 120mm -160mm of front suspension travel. If this isn't an option, then buy a set of 120mm travel front forks. That isn't said on the basis that I think that you need them...

Best model MTB for BBS01 Crank Kit?

Stick with the Performance Line motor SW. I haven't carried out any accurate checks, but I'm certain that the Performance Line with 400wh battery gave the same range as the CX with a 500wh battery. As both bikes now run CX motors I have no way of checking. My take on it is that you have the...
