I was out again tonight, and yep it was bloody freezing! I opted for two layers of Lidls long Johns and the same for my top. All was good there, but even with two pairs of socks and the overshoes, my toes were really hurting. I also found a downside of the Sealskinz gloves. I had left them...

Best model MTB for BBS01 Crank Kit?

And more torque will equal higher battery consumption. Even between the Bosch performance Line 63Nm and CX motor 75Nm, the difference is very noticeable. Afraid that you were wrong about the torque figure that you quoted for the Cube that was linked to. The torque figure for the active Line...

Describe your own ‘Truman Show’ bubble

I'm interested. :) I'm not adverse to stopping to take the odd and more diverse photo. No ants shown below, although I have stopped many times to take photos of wood ants. Just an example. These were taken on the same ride. This worm was at the side of a very small water fall, hence the...

    Are battery covers worth it?

Correctly adjusting the battery mount/cradle screws has the same desired effect. :) .

Why do you want 120mm forks when the OE ones are 100mm? My hardtail preforms brilliantly on Fox 32 Fit4 100mm forks. The one thing that I do intend to change when I service the forks is the lockout. I don't require or want the remote lockout, so I'm changing it to a manual change over. The...

On my feet I wear a pair of Sealkinz socks or any that happen to be at the top of the drawer, over these in the winter I now wear a pair of four year old Shimino summer shoes that resemble cardboard more than looking like shoes, then over these a pair of superb BBB ArcticDuty Overshoes. The...

    Are battery covers worth it?

I checked the outer case temperature after tonight's very muddy wet night ride of 11 miles, and ridden in tour mode. The ambient temperature was 2°C and the battery outer case temperature was 6°C

Well that is the first night ride of 2017 done and dusted. If only it had been dust! That was one difficult ride tonight with a mix of deep mud and frozen ground. Nota combination that I really enjoy, but it was still brilliant fun being out in the cold crisp air. :) The next ride is tomorrow...

Hang on a minute, you have all assumed that one of the ladies had the puncture. Perhaps the bike that the guy was riding had the puncture and the ladies simply stopped to leer at him or take the p**s. LP, I noticed that even you went back to check out the guys backside.

New Yamaha powered e-bikes at £1399

I wouldn't read anything into that. It wouldn't be the first time that a bike related product has been released into a European market without first having understood or even researched the climate and conditions to which the product is to be used.

    Happy New Year

I'd forgotten just good that a new set of DZO's are when things turn muddy. They are also brilliant across tree roots and off camber fallen branches that have no bark. The sort of thing that could have you on your backside quicker than you can react. They are also superb for exiting clay sided...

Sadly the group ride to Eastbourne was cancelled until the end of January, so it off for a ride locally instead. :) And there it is over and done with, the first ride of 2017. When I was out night riding during last week, I was struggling to track some of the trails that I had built, so this...

Brakes aside, I often note that the mud on the battery pack dries out quickly, whilst the rest of the mud on the bike remains wet.
