Trek powerfly 9 FS or Levo FSR comp - what would you go for?

The Levo plug is in the direct firing line of every bit of mud going. Not something that I want, but each to their own. I won't ever be buying a Specialized/Bulls/ Rotwild, so it isn't anything that I'll ever have to think about, and will leave it there. :)

Trek powerfly 9 FS or Levo FSR comp - what would you go for?

It does suffer from water ingress, as the photo below shows, but I have now ridden close to ten thousand miles using Bosch powered bikes, and whilst I have had motor issues, I have yet to have had any issue from water. I'd still take a nice clean power point any day of the week, over a muddy...

Trek powerfly 9 FS or Levo FSR comp - what would you go for?

Trevormonty. You can do all that with a Bosch powered bike. My statement was that you don't require a key to remove the battery from a Levo, and that if the bike was left unattended, then someone could simply unscrew it and walk away with it. Requiring a key for removal, is at least a...

Trek powerfly 9 FS or Levo FSR comp - what would you go for?

Not something that I have ever had cause to be concerned about, but in respect of the Levo, the battery was another reason for my not wanting to own one. Firstly, I'm not struck on requiring a hex key to remove the battery, along with having to pull out a bolt. Both are far too much fiddling...

Trek powerfly 9 FS or Levo FSR comp - what would you go for?

Afraid not, but remembering what you had said about it before, I did tell my mate to find out, but he sort of shrugged the question off. :(

Trek powerfly 9 FS or Levo FSR comp - what would you go for?

To be fair, neither of them were riding for planned efficiency, which is the key to ride length. It is something that you just learn as you become accustomed to the bike, irrelevant of make. Or certainly that is how I try to ride. I was thinking about my mates new Levo whilst out on last...

    That's Cheating!

I have taken that a step further and use a duck call whistle. Even less to go wrong, and it gets a better reaction. People also don't ignore it in the same way that they pretend not hear a bell. :)

    E-Bikes on Strava

I kind of agree with that, and just use Strava to keep record and to keep in touch with friends and to see where they have ridden. Too many people seem to let Strava rule their rides. Ebike segments/KOM's are also just a waste of time given the variables of ebike being used.

    Are battery covers worth it?

To add to that, it probably helps to keep the lock free from dust and muck as well.

Thank Chris. Sadly I couldn't get overly close, which is why the image is slightly blurred. Now that I know where it is though, I'll pop back sometime and hide up for a while in the hope of getting another chance. :)

"Sorry, he has a problem with his eyes!" says the passenger.

They do, so in the context of this thread, why have you felt the need not to differentiate with the assumption made by SW? You are just as bad, by not pulling him up on it. But then I expected nothing less from what you have written above.

Another early morning bit of fun. I have been here before. :) And a few random shots.

A lot if that isn't even where they came from. Also, just because you aren't offended by derogatory name calling, it doesn't mean that someone else wouldn't be. .

LP, good luck with that one. :) http://www.ashdownforest.org/enjoy/faq.php You would even be hauled up for wheeling a child's pram on there. I find this one even odder. Broadwater forest, which is just a few miles away from me. You could spend a whole evening riding around on the hard packed...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

It is legal, but cycling on Ashdown Forest isn't permitted, so everyone assumes that when you are on one of the seven bridleways, that you have no right to be there. The issue isn't helped by signs placed all over the place stating no cycling. Not that anyone takes any notice of that though. I...

Another day and another ride. Well two rides actually, as I went out with my regular ride partner this morning, and the spring on his rear mech snapped after just a couple of miles. We modified the mech so that he could continue, but only having first gear. The ride was kind of spoilt not by...

Jeez, that was unreal. :( You were very lucky to get up from that one. I also can't believe that the driver of the Yeti and the other car didn't even stop.

Do I need Full Sus on an electric fat bike?

It is a tough one to answer. I know three lads that have pedal only fat bikes, one has an FS , one a hardtail with front suspension, and one with no suspension at all. The lad with no front suspension has recently converted his bike to have front suspension, but neither hardtail riders desire...
