    Bafang SWX02-C Motor

It's the CAv3 you need, NOT v2. Firmware v3.1+ is highly desirable due to improved ease of configuration. Make sure it either has v3.1 preinstalled, or includes a programming cable so you may update the firmware yourself.

    Bafang SWX02-C Motor

A Cycle Analyst does require that a controller features a specific 6-pin CA connector, but this connector can be added to any controller if you're handy with a soldering iron and not afraid of a little DIY.

    ASI BAC 800 36V – 90V FOC 50A – 3800W Peak BBSHD Controller + Display + Cover

Kinda looks like an over expensive Grin Phaserunner (also ASI BAC800): https://www.ebikes.ca/c-phaserunner.html I know which I'd rather spend my own money on. Even adding a Cycle Analyst works out cheaper and I imagine would give a much more flexible setup.

battery life seems fairly poor for me about 4000 miles

At risk of sounding somewhat of a pedant, a lithium chemistry charger will never output what is commonly known as a “trickle charge”. Due to the CC/CV nature of a lithium charge profile, the charging current will always taper off to zero if the charger is not switched off, or disconnected from...

battery life seems fairly poor for me about 4000 miles

This thread is a great example of "a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing". Andy, are you aware that the majority of advice that you offer on this forum is at best, out-of-date and at worst, just plain wrong?

    Cargo bike frame

Traders on Alibaba will likely not be interested in discussing business with you if you only require a single frame. Try Aliexpress for single quantities and a better indication of the landed price. I don't think you are a long way off with your estimate, more in the £1500+ region.

    Cargo bike frame

Short answer - no. The 68USD price depends on a MOQ (minimum order quantity) of 50 frames (just the frame, mind you - doesn't include any additional components) and doesn't include shipping. You're probably looking at closer to 150USD for a single frame and then add the same again for shipping...

    New ebiker need an advice

Real limit?... How big are your balls? If you're building the bike, the limit is what your budget will allow (ignoring legal limits of course). You need to define either your budget, or your requirements. Deciding on one will sort of decide the other for you. I wouldn't get too hung up on top...

    New ebiker need an advice

Mid-drives tend to require a chain replacement around every 500-1500 miles, depending on the amount of power and the type of riding (muddy off-road riding covers the drive chain in what amounts to a grinding paste). Direct drive hub motors fall at the other end of the maintenance scale and...

    New ebiker need an advice

As a cycle courier, how many miles do you envisage riding per day? I can't help but think that a mid-drive is a really bad idea due to the increased maintenance requirements.

E-bikes are advancing fast - get the newest model of the best bike you can afford

The best way to minimise TCO per mile of any bike is to run it into the ground until it's no longer economically viable to fix. Then sell it.

    Battery decision

The only thing that makes a brushless motor rated for a particular voltage is the fact that its winding pairs nicely with a commonly available battery voltage to give a specific legislatively limited speed, e.g. 25kph in the EU, 20mph in the US, etc. This voltage rating is purely for the...

    Battery decision

Andy. Is it possible that you are confusing 'brushed' and 'brushless' motor theory? Some of what you state is true in the context of brushed motors, but not when applied to brushless motors.
