The front and back top bars are just pipe insulting tube, with red gaffer tape around it. Put on to cushion the chrome work on my 5ft giraffe unicycle when I was transporting it. Can't you put some reflective tape on the trailer frame.

They've come out, leaving the hole. I was going over a steep rocky track, so a bit of force would be involved. Lost maybe half a dozen over a couple of years.

It's simple, the spikes have a small flat mushroom head just push and wriggle it into the hole with the tool. No glue. The holes must be moulded into the rubber, a mushroom shaped hole. I'd post a pic but just come in from the shed and it's freezing out there.

There has been mention of fitting sides to the open frame trailers, ali sheet etc. Another potential light weight material is corrugated plastic board, 2 or 3 mm thick. Estate agents signs are made from it, though I believe it is illegal to use those, they are the property of the sign company...

Perhaps, like badgers, they would be best humanely culled. Until they develop a vaccine of course. I'm not that heartless.

Re Usb charging, I have a direct wired 36v/5v usb socket on the handlebars, works a treat, charging from the batteries via the fused feed to the lights. Do they use too much power in the conversion perhaps ?
