eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Nah, they were too slow to be of any interest to anyone. :) My mate fell on sheet ice twice, I fell once on sheet ice, then the second time was when a gate post leapt out at me from a hedge. I have become so used to the narrow cross country bars on my pedal mtb, that I was caught out and...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

For various reasons, the eMTB has been very much side lined of late, especially as I'm having more fun these days riding the regular mtb instead. Feeling lazy though, I opted to take the eMTB out for tonight's night ride. It was certainly a very technical ride, with two falls for each. All good...

    Brooks saddles

My preferred choice of saddle is the Ragley Tracker, and Maddison market a couple of nice ones as well. Many cycle shops now offer a saddle fitting service, which is actually very worthwhile. One close to me, also does a try before you buy service as part of the same fitting, which is an even...

I must admit that I'm starting think that I should have said no thanks to tonight's nights ride. .

    Presta valves

Sadly not. Tubeless always are, but I think that I have just been lucky with my tubes. I'll check, but think that my tubes are Schwalbe. I'd imagine that Slime tubes would be though. If the main part of the core has two small flat edges, then it should be removable. SW, I've simply been using...

    Presta valves

Well here is something that I didn't previously know. Seemingly every new bike that I have ever bought, has come with the plastic thing as shown in this link. I have always just put it straight into the bin, as I had no idea what it was for. A tool for removing a presta valve core...

    Blowout

Rose are brilliant company to deal with, and I have bought from them many a time. Their own brand clothing is also of very good quality. I have also found the delivery times to be quicker than many UK based companies.

Luckily the investment that has gone into Broadwater, means that almost all of the tracks/trails are dry throughout the year. They are either road stone, or where not, the soil is very sandy and free draining. The good thing is that the RSBP have invested heavily into the woodland, and once...

Flecc, you have kind of reminded me of our local RSPB woodland http://www.highweald.org/explore-sussex/nature-reserves/broadwater-warren-tunbridge-wells.html Something has always puzzled me about it. The woodland has an amazing network of dry tracks and trails, on which dog walking is...

    Beer

KirstinS, in respect of local brewery companies, Longman is my preferred brewery https://www.longmanbrewery.com/ Black Cat is another local brewery that produces a very palatable pint. http://www.blackcat-brewery.com/ Both are local to us. I'm not a fan of Darkstar ales, which is kind of a...

Well it is official, I have joined the ranks of being a mountain bike rider. After years of wearing lycra shorts and bib tights, and years of searching for a pair of mtb shorts that I actually liked both the look of and practicality of use of, I finally spotted some two weeks ago, whilst out on...

Don't get me started on dog eggs placed in plastic bags, and discarded anywhere other than in the dog owners bin. I'm not sure what I hate most, dogs or the lazy owners.

I hadn't noticed that. I can only guess that it might be one of two reasons, or both of the following. I'm still running summer tyres, so perhaps not so much muck is thrown up. Also, the ride speed is comparatively quite slow, so maybe not so much muck is thrown up. I wish that I could have...

    Presta valves

I can't say that it really bothers me. I run tubeless on the mtb/emtb and have yet to ever require a tube. A tube would be a last resort, and I'm not about to keep swapping the spare kit that I carry, so I'm not going to worry about it. :)

    Presta valves

I have both, and have never really given thought to either. Schrader on my Thorn, and presta on the mtb and eMTB. I also just carry a spare tube that has a presta valve, as it gives the option to fit any rim type/hole

Winter is here. A lovely muddy 16 mile night ride on the mtb. :) It doesn't seem to matter where I ride around my neck of the woods, including on the South Downs, the elevation gain always seems to end up between 100ft per mile to 120ft per mile. It would be interesting to know what the...

    Winter gloves

Just a further quick update. They are currently way too hot to wear comfortably, and really make your hands sweat. It'll be interesting to see how that changes as the winter months progress. .

Kind of ebike related..... We headed into one of favourite playgrounds this morning during an Orange/Santa Cruz demo day. Guess which bike remained behind, yep the Orange! The other riders weren't after an eMTB, and my interest in the bike is a big zero. I don't like wasting people's time, so...
