    Light tuning?

"Everybody else" Where did you come up with that? The light is okay for limited use on tight funds, but isn't exactly anything to write home about, and certainly fails for off road use. Even for on road use, with no suitable deflector, it isn't exactly a great performer when it comes to the...

    Thought I'd Broken My Frame

My Park Tool DAG - 2.2 is a workshop tool, that I wouldn't want to be without. An expensive bit of kit, but with the cost shared with my riding buddy, the sting was taken out. If you look at the 40 second point of this clip, it clearly shows d8veh working on a bike in his usual ham-fisted way...

Not something that I would agree with. .

    changing tyre(s) soon

Hannesd, take a look at Hutchinson tyres. I have run them for a number of years in a narrow section size, and can't speak highly enough of the them. Toro's are a superb compromise. Equally though, if you are happy with the existing tyre choice, just stick with that. At the moment, I run one of...

    Real Life Range

I should have really expanded upon my reply. As you have now become aware, eco is a very useful setting for when conserving the battery. It just means that you will be probably dropping two gears over what you might have otherwise have used in say Tour mode. It is also beneficial for when out...

I totally see the point of it, use it frequently, and wouldn't want to be without it.

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

When it comes to getting it dirty, it takes all but a few seconds. I would feel robbed of my life if it took any longer than 10mins to clean and prep the bike. .

That packs down very nicely. :) I already carry a foil blanket, which in truth isn't really that great size wise, so the emergency bivy could make a good choice. Thanks for that. :)

Yet another night ride in the freezing cold! The conditions were once again pretty technical in places, with a mix of mud and ice. A nice little slid to fall. Whoops!! Even before this slip, I was thinking that riding on my own at this time of the year, miles from anywhere, isn't possibly the...

    Water based degreaser/cleaner

Truck wash/traffic film remover is exceptionally good, but just be careful what you use it on. You have covered the bases of the product well, but it would still be worth mentioning that it isn't wise to use it as alternative to a dedicated bike wash product.

A random thread for things too unimportant for their own thread...

I must admit that I am currently having far more enjoyment from riding unpowered bikes, than I am powered ones. The downside is that after Ditchling Beacon, I live at the highest point in Sussex, so any riding either starts or finishes with a climb. The average elevation gain over any given...

To make sense of the above comment. :) Never too early, especially as I want to be out on it on either Xmas Day or Boxing Day. I'm current thinking eMTB today, analogue tomorrow, then eMTB the day after. And for Luke @Rutland Cycling :)

I very much suspect that I shall be removing them before they leak everywhere. Nothing worse than a leaky penes.

I wonder where my latest purchase of a set of hanging scales comes from. "Batteries included". I had to smile.

Nice one. I spent ages looking at their site without being able to figure that one out. :) There are so many people quoting differing weights, so it's good to actually get them from source. I'm just playing around with figures for the pedal bike. On the rear I'll be adding 175g by swapping...

@soundwave A little bit of research for you. See if you can find the weight of the following Schwalbe tyres. I keep coming up with differing info. (1) Nobby Nic EVO 27.5 x 2.80 Addix folding Snakeskin TL-Easy Apex Speed Grip (blue stripe) (2) The the same Nobby Nic tyre, but in in 27.5 x...

    Winter gloves

I need to get my idea for convective heat transfer gloves sorted. No need for external wiring, just a pair of gloves that heat up when placed upon a pair of handlebar grips that are powered by the bike battery. Dream on. :) .
