Refreshing and bleeding hydraulic brake fluid?

I wouldn't be thanking Dave, I would be investigating the cause, not masking the issue.

    Dowsing for Water

You would remember Gerald if you had ever met him. I'm going back to 1982 when I was just 16yrs old. Because of his teeth, I gave him the nickname him Gnaw Gnaw, and he looked like Catweazle. Pretty much your average bee keeper really. :p:D I was always fascinated because he had about 60...

Refreshing and bleeding hydraulic brake fluid?

I change mine at least once a year, and I'm always stunned by the rank colour of it. The performance may or may not have deteriorated in that time, but as I like to stick to thorough maintenance regime, I never see it as an issue to carry out. I also carried out a strip and rebuild on my Reverb...

    Dowsing for Water

Have you ever come across a bee keeper called Gerald, from Uckfield? He used to use dowsing rods, and set lay lines all the time. An odd but very intriguing guy. :)

    Dowsing for Water

Interesting, as they fit the meter at the boundry here, and I have yet to have worked anywhere where the mains stop cock is within the curtilage of the property.

    Dowsing for Water

Could you not turn your stop cock off in the house, and then listen yourself to gauge if there is a leak. Clearly having a water meter is the easiest way to test it, and maybe you could request that a meter is fitted. Depending upon you water use, a meter might possibly reduce your annual...

    2017 KTM Fogo 271

A very interesting question Trevor, and one that I was actually thinking about during the ride yesterday. Firstly, I think that when it comes to groupsets, we all generally have a favoured manufacturer, and usually that will either be Shimano or SRAM. I’m no different, and have in the past...

    Hard tail or full sus

That is good point. I had forgotten that he had Pro Core fitted. It seems to much of a hassle for me, but if funds permitted and I was riding on rock all of the time, it could be worth while. For riding around where I am, it wouldn't be worth the expense.

    Hard tail or full sus

Definitely the way to go. :) When I was following the guy that I was with on that epic Swiss Alps climb, I was amazed by just how much traction and control that plus size gives. The tyres just seem to form a moulded footprint around what ever is below, with seemingly zero loss of traction. All...

    Hard tail or full sus

Chris_n if you get the chance, try a plus size hardtail. For the terrain that you ride, you will be amazed by both the traction and the comfort.

    2017 KTM Fogo 271

Sambal, sadly my motorcycle ownership days are very much in the past. The weekend finally provided a chance to get out and use the bike, with Sunday being a very short shake down ride, and then Monday providing a 50 mile ride on the South Downs. First impressions, are that the bike is quite...

    Something for the weekend sir

Afraid that I don't own one. :) I just have a cheapo Galaxy android. I used to use a telescopic fishing rod stand, but the stand that came with the bike stand is far better in every respect. It can be locked into position and also wrapped around to prevent it from slipping.

    Something for the weekend sir

Sw, I think that you probably already have the stand that I use, as it would have come with your Lidl/Aldi bike stand. It is the telescopic rod, that has the rubber strap at the end which is used for holding the handlebars. If you look at the following four photos from today, the stand is very...

    Something for the weekend sir

What bike? I don't see a bike! :D Steve, plus size tyres are the way to go. :) I was a convert to them the very first time that I tried a set on a bike in the Alps, and see them very much as the future (at least for me), especially on a hardtail. I'm definitely hovering on selling the fs Lycan...

    Something for the weekend sir

This one was the hardest shot to take. The surface was seemingly like ice. The KTM Fogo 271 taking centre stage. .

Just out of interest, why do you think that the current set require an upgrade?

    Something for the weekend sir

So what is everyone up to in respect of sunny bank holiday riding? I finally found some time early this morning to give the new KTM Fogo 271 a first ride and shake down, in readiness for an early start on the South Downs tomorrow. I have a feeling that I am going to love this bike, and...

    Bosch - New eMtb mode

How do you come to that conclusion? There is significant difference, and also major difference to battery consumption. In respect of the CX motor, Sport offers 60Nm of torque and 210% assist, where as Turbo offers 75Nm of torque, and 300% assist. You might just as well say the same of eco-tour...

    Bosch - New eMtb mode

Yes I have. I don't want or require sport mode altered, I want full control of all settings, and I certainly don't want the extra battery consumption that it creates, which is actually quite significant when we tried a back to back test in the Swiss Alps. I clearly accept that as an extreme...
