How much cash do I need to outlay to gain an extra 2 mph ?

I think it highly likely Vision would simply refer you back to Pure. I'd be more inclined to strike up a rapport with the guys in your local Pure store. I've found the guys in my local Halfords very friendly and chatty when they're not being shouted at by disgruntled customers.

How much cash do I need to outlay to gain an extra 2 mph ?

In many cases, it's possible to change both display and controller - usually, they need to be changed as a matched pair because protocols differ between different manufacturers. You need to trace the wiring from your display back to the controller - usually a shiny aluminium box hidden...

How much cash do I need to outlay to gain an extra 2 mph ?

That's a really good find, although disappointing for you because it looks as if you're snookered. I'm sure there'll be some FaceTwitWhatSnap group who'll eventually work it out though. As a ray of hope, Bafang's 4-digit passcode was published in a Technical Manual intended for dealers, but...

It looks like you've covered all the bases then. That's a very good price for the bike too. I hope you enjoy it!

Don't forget, since Brexit, VAT and Import Tax may be charged on anything brought in from overseas - EU and China. I've had and heard some slip through the net, but others get caught. Fiido overcame that by setting up a UK warehouse after Brexit, and thereafter importing direct into the UK to...

Do any bike manufacturers provide for accessories to plug in?

You can buy converters on Amazon, Ebay etc to convert 36/42v battery to 12v. I use one to power my 12v car fridge to keep beer cool on the beach when I don't need one of my batteries on the bike. Like GSV3, I use a battery pump (Xiaomi version) for pumping up bike tyres though. They're brilliant.

In your shoes I'd likely opt for the original Onebot S6 too then. As a precaution, I'd just do some internet searching to see if you can find what spare parts are available for the S6, just in case. I have an £800 Chinese Fiido folding e-bike. Fiido make ALL the spare parts available direct...

How much cash do I need to outlay to gain an extra 2 mph ?

That's the display that talks to the controller. As said, holding the buttons down on your display gives you access to the program menu. Option 3 adjusts maximum speed. The trouble is you then need the 4-digit passcode to change the setting (as many of these menus do). You could try 1111, 2222...

How much cash do I need to outlay to gain an extra 2 mph ?

Did I miss something here? It's the controller that limits the speed to 15.5mph. Most motors are capable of giving a few mph more if you de-restrict the controller. Usually you can do that by accessing the programme settings (often simply holding down the up and down keys on your display for a...

It really depends on how practical you are at fixing a bike/e-bike yourself. There are plenty of fairly decent reliable low-cost Chinese folding e-bikes being sold from around £500 upwards within both the UK and Europe that would probably serve you equally well. However, not all of these...

Ebike shuts down at max throttle.

If the display cuts out too, it does sound to me like the battery is shutting down. Using full throttle places a huge current draw on the battery: Even if your battery managed to cope with that demand when it was new, as the cells age/wear they become less likely to cope, dipping voltage to...

Welcome Brockley The MiRider is fundamentally the same as the Onebot. MiRider take Onebot parts, assemble in the UK, and up-rate a few things. IIRC, the main chnages are that the wheels are spoked instead of cast (lighter), the controller is a better one than standard, the brakes and motor are...

Plainclothes PC cyclist snares drivers who come too close

This is an interesting initiative educating drivers who pass cyclists too close. I wonder if, as a cycling Policeman, he'd notice and report you too if you passed him on a speed pedelec? Plainclothes PC in Portsmouth snares drivers who come too close as taxi, refuse lorry and van drivers given...

    Carrera Crossfire-e & Vulcan-e (Mk1&Mk2) compatible 11.6ah battery New £140 delivered

The previous version YosePower sold did have the Smart BMS. This current batch of 10 they're now offering (they say) don't. I don't know if that matters for a Crossfire-e, I'm just pointing out the difference. My own e-bike uses this same SF-06 not-smart battery: I paid £150 for a spare. It's...

    Carrera Crossfire-e & Vulcan-e (Mk1&Mk2) compatible 11.6ah battery New £140 delivered

Are you sure? The listing states it comes with a "Standard BMS". That means the centre 4 output pins aren't connected. The Crossfire-e came with all 6-pins connected - the battery being marked with a "Smart BMS" sticker. I don't want to rain on your parade; this Phylion SF-06 battery is used...

News: Bristol cycle manufacturer with £200k crowdfund eyes e-bike market

I think that's grossly unfair. It's not explicitly clear from their website, but Temple claim to make their bikes - even the frames - in the UK. That frame is not a £30 Alibaba import... it's very nicely smooth welded - it makes equally overpriced German R&M frames look embarrasing by...

Recomendations for folding bike (second bike)

Taking onboard your comments and sjpt's above, I would just buy a new low-cost folder as you propose. Tow bar, carrier and fitting is likely to cost at least as much, and yet your bike is always vulnerable to rain and road grit when driving and theft when unattended. Some hotels and B&B's will...

Are Expensive Bike Lights a Rip Off?!

A friend of mine has been happily using (one that looks like) that £26 Amazon light for a good few years: It seems to work from cell voltage not bucked up to 5v. Maybe being under-volted accounts for its reliability. Using a standard USB battery pack to feed it 5v makes it a lot lot brighter.

    DIY e-bike

If you trawl back through the forum, you'll find many threads where the advice is nearly always the same. No. DD motors are okay for high speed on the flat but labour when you hit a hill wasting energy as heat, not speed or torque. My recommendation would be not to do it. Find the highest...
