Well done for persevering with overcoming your health issues. Keeping active is important, and electric bikes really help to facilitate this.

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

It would be frustrating for me to reply to your question about battery range with, depends, but there is always an element of depends when talking about range. Interestingly as I use my Haibike to commute to work and back I have very rarely depleted the battery close to empty. The fact that I...

    Ebike Commuting

The highest risk part of my journey is the bit on the road from my house to where I access my first track, but after that I am indeed very lucky with lovely countryside. We have more in common than ebiking, sadly, I was bereaved myself in August 2019. I look after my Yamaha battery so...

    Ebike Commuting

By chance as I set off home from work my clock on the display on my bike was showing 14:00, and after my 10 mile undulating B road journey when my wheels stopped turning on my driveway it had just changed from 14:28 to 14:29. I used 41% of my 400Wh battery that is now 6 and a half years old. An...

    Converting to belt drive

I am not sure I would bother. Chains on a rear hub geared bike benefit from a straight chain line and should last ages and be cheap to replace/mend which belts are not.

    e scooters - a menace?

And remember The Police seem to be completely disinterested in Ebikes whatever speed they are doing up or downhill......at the moment.....

Hub motor and V brakes - how long will the rim last?

Before having an electric bike I loved leisure mountain biking and just before hydraulic disc brakes came in bought a very nice Marin hard tail with very powerful rim brakes and being a big bloke in a sandy area riding aggressively was getting through a set of rims a year. After a few years of...

    Ebike Commuting

Ebike commuting in the Heat Wave I have just had a perfect four days commuting to work and back on my 2015 Haibike Yamaha. 14 miles cross country to work in the afternoon through beautiful countryside and on great tracks. Then 10 miles back home on the road in the evening. I have enjoyed...

How many miles a day do you do?

I have ridden 330 miles in the last 28 days on my Haibike cross country to work and back home again on the road. That works out as bit more than 11 miles a day. However that is a bit misleading as I only use The Haibike to ride to work and back and all of those miles were achieved in fourteen...

How many miles a day do you do?

Well done for heading your health warning. We are creatures of habit and breaking a long standing pleasurable activity like smoking must have taken a lot of will power.

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

118 Mile, 5 day cross country commuting run Another 6 day run of commuting to work by bike. Five of those trips were fantastic cross country trips on my Haibike, completing 118 miles. The last trip yesterday was different as my job start and finish times allowed me to ride down to my local...

    Scorchio

My replacement top gear cog is still lasting after another week of commuting duties, or in the case of The Haibike, three return trips and a total of 74 miles, 30 on the road where the top gear gets hammered on my rides home, and 44 off road where it maybe gets used briefly a couple of times on...

    Old Nag

Yes, I agree Nealh, those first two years when I commuted to work on it were when I began experimenting with an off road route, and was surprised how well it coped, until I bought my hard tail crank Drive Haibike. As you say the ease with which you can repair these types of bikes and cheaply...

    Old Nag

Old Nag / Triggers Broom How long does an electric bike last? I am still getting excellent use out of my Oxygen Emate City that was my first electric bike that I bought at the beginning of June 2011. To be frank it looks very second hand now, and needs a new rear rack and a set of front forks...

The tale of a £100 second hand electric bike.

The £100 second hand ebike continues to excel Today is day 5 of 6 consecutive Early Shifts at work. The story so far.... The start of my 6 early shifts was on Friday the 18th of June. My job was the earliest start in our depot. I had to be there at 04:14 in the morning. Despite the early...

    Scorchio

Another lovely ride in on Tuesday. I used just 25% of my battery on the 14 mile cross country route to work. I was really quite tired at the end of my shift but again the weather was warm enough to ride in just shorts and a T shirt. I caught a glimpse of the clock at the start of my ride and...

    Scorchio

First off road ride to work after a couple of weeks off. Rather embarrassingly although I had changed the worn out brake pads I had forgotten to wash the bike and it was covered in dried mud. However it was a great 12 mile ride on a beautiful if very hot day. The tracks were mostly dry and...

Yamaha Sideswitch Display A strange behaviour

With a new bike under warranty I am afraid you need to take it back to have it probably replaced. I have a 2015 earlier Yamaha Haibike and that has a removable central display. I need to occasionally replace the battery and there is a small rubber O ring that I have to be careful with when...

    Yamaha Battery/Charger Problem

I started this thread as I was so taken aback that there was no support to rectify an essentially very simple and cheap problem to fix. The Yamaha plug when I had my problem was impossible to obtain. The good news is that my original 400Wh battery is still going strong, now 4,456 miles and over...
