    Help! New chain needed ?

If you are not interested in going off road and by that I mean the more adventurous demanding and technical stuff, you would probably be much better served by a simple geared rear hub motored bike. I have both and use my old 2011 rear hub motored bikes for the majority of my road riding...

Hi Dom T, I think you hit the nail on the head, it is the real uplift in mood from riding in the great outdoors that at the moment with us all locked away and on our own much more than usual is every bit as important as the exercise. I started early in the morning today, so rode on the road to...

I have put mud guards all over mine but I seem to be very much in the minority.

Help! How long your chains/cassettes last for +500W middrive motors? Does middrive make sense for commuting?

For commuting on the road a simple geared rear hub motor will remove rather than add stress to your drive train and your drive train will therefore last a lot longer.

After the flood.... Yesterday was the last cross country ride to work, a cold and sunny lovely ride. 13th Century Medieval Multi Span Eashing bridge in flood https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1002975 I digress with the musical links but as a spotty youth in...

What a difference a day makes....24 little hours I gave my potential ride to work on Wednesday a miss as that was the day Christoph poured down water upon us with a fair bit of wind thrown in... I had ridden the day before when Christoph was brewing, and had a very nice and dry cross country...

    Battery longevity

I tend to agree vfr400 The battery on my 2015 Haibike is fitted externally to the down tube and very easily taken off and put on. Because of this I always remove the battery and store it in the house. I also do not store the battery fully charged. I try to only charge the battery to full...

    Battery longevity

Hi Gubbins, I bought my entry level Haibike sDuro Yamaha hard tail mountain bike in March 2015 and am still using the original 400Wh battery which will be 6 years old in March and like you although there must have been some degradation it still works amazingly well using the same amount of its...

The tale of a £100 second hand electric bike.

Rain Stopped Play I had planned to ride my splendid £100 ebike to my three early shifts but with a lot of rain forecast on two of the days I only rode to one of them, the middle one of the three. That day was however a very nice cold dry day and just right for cycling, and despite having to...

WHAT CAN IT TOW? - HOW POWERFUL IS AN ELECTRIC MOUNTAIN BIKE!

All I know is that when I ridiculously overload my basic rear hub bikes with overfull pannier bags of shopping they still wizz me back home up a long draggy hill. Splendid.

Hi Dom T, very sorry to hear about your brush with an aggressive pedestrian. The jump to a physical assault can happen very quickly it seems these days. I hope you are feeling better soon. I am on a short run of three early shifts, with progressively 1 hour later start times each day. Yesterday...

    Yamaha pwx controller

I only highlighted Haibike, as that is the make of bike I own, I think it is worse than that, as it is the electrical system, be that in my case Yamaha, but also I believe Bosch, and perhaps others, that out of warranty offer no support and that encompasses many more bikes and makes of bike. I...

Which ebike for £2500 to go for early morning rides?

Trees are very unforgiving! I had a spectacular off myself some years ago on my old acoustic mountain bike cutting just a little too close to a tree and catching it with the edge of my shoulder after which my bike and were spread across the trail. I did not cut so close to trees after that!

    Yamaha pwx controller

It will at some point come home to bite them. Earlier this year I seriously considered buying a new Haibike with an updated Yamaha system similar to the one I already own. It had just the right mix of components and features for me. However, the reason I held off was mostly because of how poor...

I would contact performance line bearings, see what they say, they are on the forum but someone else may have a link.

The tale of a £100 second hand electric bike.

So, I changed the front brake pads today at 2265 miles, and adjusted the rear brake, in readiness for three early shifts that begin on Thursday. Adjusting the rear brake with the simple allen key turn adjuster at the wheel should be a simple task but on this bike it is not as the width of the...
