Of course, as I said make real farming pay for everyone. But we dont do that, instead our idiot politicians just make matters worse with stupid policies which progressively kill so much of our farming. .

The youngsters are not hard done, far from it. My protest is about how the minority of privately owned family farms will end up as unproductive land and the young lost to farming. It's been going on for many years and is why so many of our farmers are pensioners with no-one to follow. Why...

Starmer's plan to make farms liable to inheritance tax is a terrible mistake. That our farmers are increasingly ageing due to the impossibility of the young entering the industry with the high cost of farmland in this country is already a serious problem. The only bright spot is inheritance...

You are right to be nervous. Here's one of those "Off Road" mobility scooters, the Invader costing £7650. Be afraid! Be very afraid!! https://www.wildandwackymobility.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/InvaderMk2-standard.webp .

Not kph. The law has two speed limits for mobility scooters: 4 mph on pavements, 8 mph on roads. Some machines have a 16mph mode for euphemistically named "Off Road" circumstances. .

Thank you for your detailed reply. We could argue endlessly using the statistics but I'll try to keep my response as short as possible The measured time span is far too short. I quote examples of occupancy over lifetimes when the earlier occupancies were commonly far larger than 2.4 per...

You've posted this argument before but I've never really engaged with it fully enough, but this time I'm going to, by disagreeing that migration is such a large element of the housing shortage. In fact it is so far from it that it contains within it a reminder, that we the native population...

Actually 0.95% as @Woosh has noted, but by how much doesn't necessarily matter as much as whether it is the straw that breaks the camel's back. When the cost of living feels more like the cost of survival, when the prospects of better become more and more remote, when hope changes to...

We are a menace, the first species to break nature's natural balance of each species limited to its readily available resources. We don't need to exterminate ourselves, we only need to find a way to limit our numbers to the minimum required to enjoy our technological advances, without...

That is what science and the people should have been doing for at least two centuries, but I have no faith in either starting to do it now, or even in the medium term future. I only see a prospect of last minute panic, too late. .

And the result from that miracle of fossil fuels? Eight billion humans threatening all life on earth, including humans themselves. The natural balance of life and its readily available resources destroyed. Ed Miliband isn't the enemy, he's too ineffectual to be that. The real enemy is the...

Rude? Not really. Opinionated yes, and intolerant of opposing opinions. Anyway, we already have an OG, OldGroaner who has a very different opinion of EU membership: Link .

Which would be preferable, since these "farm" animals are wholly artificial, so arguably should not exist. But with our out of control population we've made a trap for ourselves over time. .

Very much like me, only very rarely eating pork as a cut of meat and even more rarely a pork sausage. There are the few producers of partially or fully free range pork, such as the pigs on pannage in the New Forest, but the labelling allowing us to choose doesn't seem to exist. .

I don't know where Ireland figures, but Great Britain is the Danes largest customer for their 28 million pigs a year. We also produce another 10 million a year ourselves. All of which greatly upsets the Vegans whos hate us for eating such intelligent animals. More intelligent than dogs, more...

Yes we can certainly agree with a willing subject's preferable use of Nitrogen, and the way the American's so often mess up what should be simple. I imagine the Swiss police involvement in the Sarco pod case was prompted, due to the Swiss sensitivity about being one of the minority of nations...

Yes, slow death with 100% nitrogen They've done all their homework on this subject in depth and so well that there is no panic response to CO2 in the best practice Danish usage to slaughter pigs. It is instaneous change from relaxed to anaethesia and death. This subject isn't only about the...

I was, my comment was nothing to do with global warming at all, just confirming the lethal nature of CO2. So lethal that in very high concentration it causes such instant anaesthesia that the Danish use it to humanely slaughter the millions of pigs for their well known meat export market. .
