Would that be a designer Allen key?

    Does bicycle weight really matter?

That's what I did, without thinking why. Hopefully it'll spend 99.99% of the time worth the wheels on the ground. I don't intend lifting it very often and if I do I can lift 25kg really enough. A bigger issue might be whether or not I can turn it over without breaking the lcd if I were to get...

    Does bicycle weight really matter?

Maybe I am missing something out but if I weight say 75kg with my clothes on (I don't intend to cycle naked) then worrying about a bike being 19kg or 25kg seems not to make any sense? Maybe a 6% difference giving you an extra couple of miles range? If that is right then I don't need to take...

    Smart ebike out of production?

Can you further explain how it is ' made for the elite '? If I pay the money (which you point out is less than many others) I can get one. So a bike for the masses?

    Smart ebike out of production?

Does bespoke not mean 'made to order'. Is the smart bike not mass produced? I'm also wary of the term 'designer'? Do you mean the modem meaning of something exclusive due to its high price?

    Smart ebike out of production?

My cage is stunning. I did stunning research on it and got a stunning bargain and for some reason did a stunning cost analysis over two years. I'm not at all jealous of your bargain. I don't like the look of the smart bike so wouldn't get it. I continue to be amazed by your efforts to get...

    Smart ebike out of production?

I know you have had disagreements with others on here and I don't really want to argue with you, so I'll just give an opinion instead. In my opinion your head is full of mad dog's shite and your opinionated views are some of the last informative on this forum.

Thoughts on two very different bikes please

My heart says the Momentum too - and I doubt I'll ever be off-road. I won a bike (Giant Boulder) years ago and it was only ever used on roads, so seems likely my next one will be the same :-)

Thoughts on two very different bikes please

Hi Yamdude It comes fitted with 700cx32 tyres, so not quite the thinnest. I am learning as I go here - I think the 2016 Momentum is aluminium rather than steel and I didn't realise that that was lighter but a harsher ride. I did say that I was a novice!

Thoughts on two very different bikes please

Thanks. I thought it was a good looking bike too. The towpath here is paved from my home to the city centre, so not at all rough

Thoughts on two very different bikes please

Belfast isn't really that hilly, and certainly not my route to work. Other than that any hills are either reasonably short or quite gentle

Thoughts on two very different bikes please

Hi Rob I did try that raptor but found it a much harder ride. I was also unsure about the small battery and the single speed if I had to run it without a battery. The Eagle was much more comfortable but I also found the momentum more pleasant

    Be careful cyclists!

In the past two weeks I've seen far too many cyclists riding at night with dark clothing and no lights. I'm cycle-aware and I could have run over them. Be seen!

Thoughts on two very different bikes please

I've posted a few times, so thanks for everyone who has offered help and advice so far. I'm still waiting for confirmation from work about which cycle to work scheme they are using before I decide for sure. I have decided that I definitely don't want to buy online or secondhand. I have...

Volt Impulse vs Freego Eagle vs buying online and unseen

The 2016 model has a bigger battery, with a possible 15 extra miles. Oddly enough a different saddle was one of the things I did ask about. I tested the route to work and back last Saturday and found that 1) there's a headwind all the way back, so I definitely want an ebike and 2) I have a...

Volt Impulse vs Freego Eagle vs buying online and unseen

I called out to greenaer in Moira yesterday. Lee was very helpful and let us try the Momentum Upstart and a Steiger. I didn't like the look of the latter. The momentum was great fun. Looks like a basic bike (less likely to get nicked?) and hub gears, so maybe easier maintenance Only...

    marathon plus tyre untrue

I'm glad someone has created it. Electric bikes are my first real foray into cycling and I don't have even basic knowledge like this. I will get myself a book but forums can give useful insight from experienced people

Any Woosh owners in or around Belfast? (Or any other makes too!)

Hi Woosh seems to be very popular on the forum but I don't feel ready to buy without trying. Are there any owners (preferably the Kreiger) around Belfast who might be willing to let me try theirs? Or may you have another make that would have to be bought online? PM me if you can help -...

Volt Impulse vs Freego Eagle vs buying online and unseen

Hi MrMac I liked the guys at fullcycle. They seemed knowledgeable and helpful. my wife was with me and caroline came with us to the park to try three bikes and compare them. Still on my list and scoring highly for being a real bike shop. I mailed greenaer at the weekend to look at the...
