Thanks Flecc! I knew there was some additional resistance through cold weather, but didn't realise it was that much!

Almost joined the 50mph club, 49.28!

Dropped my car off for some work and decided to cycle the hilly 15miles to work. Managed to talk myself out of 'going electric' and instead opted for a standard mountain bike! I was a little off joining the prestigious 50mph club, I need to revisit the hill! Cyclemeter-Cycle-20111215-0944.kml...

Hi Alan, They look incredible! I'm not sure how good they would be in hilly Gloucestershire without a motor ;) Good luck to your customer, would be interested to see their build when complete! Mark

    Converted another Stingray Chopper

Hi Steve, My choice of motorbike also isn't a chopper! However it is an eye-catcher and means you engage in conversation with so many people when out and about. There are a few that have been converted to trikes, but my welding skills leave a lot to be desired!! Am picking up a Nirve cruiser...

    Converted another Stingray Chopper

We thought it would be fun to convert another Stingray chopper, so have done! its almost 7ft long! From what I gather there were only a handful of these brought into the UK and probably even less converted to electric! Check out the video of it in action here: Schwinn Stingray Electric - YouTube

    Ultra Motor File for Bankruptcy

Hi Andrew, I don't think there is reason to worry. As you point out, the technology side has been sold- this includes the motor manufacturing plant and manufacturer of controllers and other parts. Thanks Mark

Hi Haku, Ultra Motor ceased distribution of Urban Mover over 6 months ago. I believe they still have operations outside of the UK. Thanks Mark

    Stopped by police

This is crazy! A cycle has as much right on the road as a car, regardless of other routes being available.

    Winter riding checks

Hi All; Putting a list together of important checks and considerations for riding in the winter. Can anyone think of anymore to add? 1) Consider changing to studded tyres for extra grip in snow and ice 2) Check your lights are up to the required standard and carry additional batteries...

    British Electric Bike Association Launched

Gents- we appreciate your support and long may it continue. We as the manufactures have put our differences, competitive products etc aside and feel the need to work together to build the industry. We want to channel effort into positive PR and any support we can get would be greatly...

    Channel 5 Gadget Show

I think this was a great opportunity to get electric cycles into the mainstream. This was a fun way to do it and the fun factor will get people interested! Lets hope we can continue the exposure through other channels!
