I just watched it and love the way they didn't lock the bikes up. The last stop was right outside my office and I reckon the bikes would be gone in under 3 minutes.

Thats exactly what I said to my wife as we watched the programme! However I guess with the TV crew on site there was little chance of them being 'nicked ' unless the Jewlers shop was in New Bond st, a popular takeaway location!
If we ignore the 'Top Gear' type hype of the feature then I suppose it does promote the idea of electric bikes, so roll on Clarkson thrashing one around his favorite playground! silversurfer.:)

I think this was a great opportunity to get electric cycles into the mainstream. This was a fun way to do it and the fun factor will get people interested! Lets hope we can continue the exposure through other channels!

I enjoyed the show, but was astounded by some of the wreckless riding on show, especially where he was stuck behind the white van!
And during there research:rolleyes: due diligence.......not once asking themselves who uses E bikes and for what purpose. They come upon the idea to recklessly imitate a courier journey when couriers are probably the last people on earth to want to use an electric bike. the whole show is a farce and nothing but a 090 con trick.

Suzie Perry is one very smart lady

I spent 2 days with the crew of the Gadget show when they were filming this. We at OnBike took 2 bikes to the trial the Emotion Sport and the Ezee Forza. You should not under estimate the research that does go into a program like this. We had to submit all of the technical details of the bikes and then they phoned and quizzed me extensively about the bikes.
I was amazed by Suzie and her knowledge of the bikes. She understood the difference between pedelec, throttle, direct drive and hub completely. The reason some people on the forum and AtoB are dismissive of her is that she did not come and give her reasons for her choice at the trials. This was purely because she was unwell and had to go home.
She was very clear with me as to why she picked the Forza. She wanted a comfortable ride with suspension and wide tires to help with the many potholes in central London. Then she wanted the light and powerful bike for getting around the traffic.
What amazed me was on the day of the London filming Suzie took myself and my colleague to lunch and questioned us on the watt-hours of various batteries and the efficiency of various drive systems.

It would be a foolish man that under estimated Suzie Perry.

Yes I reckon, Suzie and Jason had to do some studying before they actually turned up at the velodrome. They both seemed to me being quite knowledgeable on that day. Anyway, I think it was great to be there and see all the sharks from the industry

At the risk of being shot down in flames, I am a gadget freak and always enjoy the Gadget Show. The presenters all come across as fairly well informed and generally cover the important aspects of the products they review.

There are times when they skip over things, as in this case, but I appreciate that it is an entertainment program and there are time constraints. Given their usual tests, this did feel a little light on details (for the bikes) and a little rushed.

For me it would have been great to see a break down of all the bikes performance vs their specs and cost rather than a race of just 2 bikes.

Thanks for posting this background information.

I don't particularly like the way The Gadget Show is presented but at least now I know that research did take place.

I am glad they do the research and are knowledgeable on the subject matter. I just wish it would be a lowed to shine through more often the, program is probably intellectual levelled for the masses but I have seen/heard this done before and present to multiple audiences using the same content eg. the Simpson or money box(on radio 4). I would like it if program was more than T3/stuff of television. all that said it is the best gadget program on channel 5 and it's good to show people that ebikes a not what they used to be.
