    Electric Bike Legislation

If the power only mode now allowed in the UK is blown out wont this leave a lot of people with illegal bikes. Also it seems to defy common sense. I happily pedal all the time on the straight to increase range but I feel safer and more stable on roundabouts and manouvreing in heavy traffic with...

    50 Cycles Contact Details

Have now made contact with 50 Cycles and received advice on my 'resistance' problem similar to comments from Flecc and others on this forum but with the added assurance that I wouldn't void my warranty if I stripped the insulation and delved a bit deeper than a cursory examination so pleased to...

    50 Cycles Contact Details

Thanks Thanks to you all for you help. It's very weird the web link provided by Flecc took me straight there no trouble from his reply but to check that I'm not yet losing my marbles I have just Googled 50 Cycles again and then clicked on the link provided and it just locks up and gives a 'non...

    Ezee Forte Problem

Thanks Flecc my electrical chum was talking about 'resistance' as the likely cause, which I thought meant shorting out to which he said no because that would blow the fuse but I now understand that a weak connection can cause a 'high resistance' because the current can't pass through...

    Ezee Forte Problem

50 Cycles site is down so has anyone any experience of the following please. Motor was stuttering on last mile home so I figured the range had been reduced in cold weather and I fully charged the battery as normal. Green light on charger after normal period and Green light on Battery Meter so...

    A Travel Dilemma

As a retiree I spend some time in the Portuguese Algarve and as I ride an Ezee Forte in the UK which I have found a pleasant and practical experience (albeit forced on me initially due to a mild yet notifiable medical condition) I am considering 'doubling up'. My problem is that although one...

    Unrestricted Forte

Thanks Flecc ! As my post suggested, I am happy with my 'average speed' per journey within the somewhat limited, yet, in lifestyle terms, highly significant range and I guess I may be better served to concentrate on my, as yet, rather limited technique, as opposed to the apparently easy option...

    Unrestricted Forte

Slightly off theme but relevant I think!?! I purchased a Forte recently when diagnosed with a form of epilepsy which affects only my sense of smell, yet still compromises my driving rights under DVLA rules (short of lengthy appeal procedures!). I am very pleased with it to the point that I...

    Insurance

Thanks. The CG quote did seem pretty steep to me compared to say car insurance, which covers a lot more than theft. It's opportunistic theft that worries me most - outside shops etc - as most of my journeys end up in a relatively secure environment . Therefore, the alarm idea sounds good to me...

How did you find the Pedelecs site ?

I googled electric bikes and if it's any help it did not take long to find this site, although with the jargon fresh in my mind from researching my purchase, I did half wonder whether I was a true pedelec or an e-biker and so am glad that neither I nor google were that prissy in practice

    Insurance

Has anyone any ideas on insuring an Ezee Forte please? My Home Policy would cover theft from the home for an aditional premium and would add away from home for a regular bike but they will not accept "asssisted" vehicles. Any tips on 'preventive security would also be very welcome! Thanks
