    kudos Typhoon power loss

Thumb throttle may be restricted not sure as I have hardly ever used but believe when I first got the bike I used it as a speed boost up hill instead of changing the setting on the meter so would have been expecting more than 6kmh. I feel I may have tried it a while ago and thought it wasn't...

    kudos Typhoon power loss

hi, I've been using my Typhoon for the past year and have covered 660miles. Not a lot I hear you say but that's down to it being 1.5 miles to the train station across town and my using the bike to replace a car for that journey. All things were ok until a couple of weeks ago when It started...

Recommend brake pads for Kudos Typhoon?

Any recommendations as to what brake pads to buy for the Typhoons Shimano disc brakes? The ones that came with the bike are reasonable and I've locked the rear wheel up avoiding a car but it would have been nicer if they had slowed me down quicker just before I put some extra squeeze on. Could...

    Battery charging regime

Just passed the first 100 miles on my Typhoon and have been trying to run the battery down to see what the range is like. On the LCD and the battery lights I'm at 50% however there's been quite a power drop off and when climbing even a very moderate incline the LCD cam drop to 0% which makes me...

Torque or speed sensor - preferences?

Could have been the sirocco 2 as I tried that as well just remember thinking the grip was small on one I tried. Would think a revo and twist grip throttle would be an awkward combo, so might just be poor memory on my part as my daughters bike has revos and I much prefer my finger operated ones.

Torque or speed sensor - preferences?

Could have been the CDL then. When I got to the Cambs Woosh showroom they told me that the bb's were out of stock so I tried out a couple of the others there. Could be I'm totally misremembering though, it was a few months ago now.

Torque or speed sensor - preferences?

Must say when I tried a Big Bear I found having the throttle and the (revo?) gear change together rather awkward felt like the throttle bit was rather small. I can understand why people might want one if they cannot pedal at all but then it would seem a bit strange to use a bike though going for...

Torque or speed sensor - preferences?

sounds to me that some sort of exponential torque sensor would be best by that I mean that you put in a little effort you get little assist so you can manoeuvre easily put in more and you get a lot more so you can climb hills without knackering yourself. I find the idea of changing the power...

Torque or speed sensor - preferences?

I've been riding my Typhoon around town and find with it speed sensor power activation that I feel I'm going to ram the cars in front when we start off from the traffic lights (the wheels on this bike make me feel I could probably ride over them :) ) and I end up using my brakes a lot to cut the...

    strange vibration on over run

I've been riding my Typhoon the last few weeks and have noticed that occasionally usually on the overrun when I've stopped pedalling that there's a slight shiver of a vibration through the bike, only for a second but noticeable. Was wondering if that was normal? The bike appears to run fine...

    Yet another journalist......

Took my 6year old daughter out for her first cycle outside the garden yesterday, very nerve wracking cars too close, roads narrow with pot holes, uncut bushes and parked cars making it worse. Didn't put her off but then she's yet to understand how easy it is to get badly injured. Me I do and...

    What about facts and figures?

Seems I started something here! Measuring hill climbing ability wouldn't be impossible I'm sure just need a rolling road type thing and something to drive the pedals, though not really something for a forum to implement :) Must say there's been a number of people saying they were looking for...

    Yet another journalist......

cycle lanes round here seem to be designed to put car drivers, cyclists and pedestrians in conflict. Car drivers have a hard time on uk roads already compared with other countries I feel - the US was a dream to drive in could go anywhere all relaxed got back and got stuck in a traffic jam from...

    Downhill

Afraid not. The are bikes with regenerative braking I believe but few and far between as it appears to be considered to be of little point for the cost of the extra tech. Plus most people want to go faster...

    Yet another journalist......

yeah must agree with that. I've been out cycling more since I got my bike a couple of weeks ago and keep wondering what it is with cycle lanes round here. One I noticed started part way a long a road going the wrong way down a one way two lane road. How is that safe and how on earth do they...

    Downhill

The assist will stop but you can go as fast as gravity and/or your legs can make you go. Watch out when stopping though as bikes don't stop instantly and ebikes tend to have more mass than ordinary bikes which will need more effort stopping...

    What about facts and figures?

Yes and that's what I'm getting at. The devils in the detail yet that detail is missing. I would have thought that some website would come up with tables of bike details similar to what you get for cars so that people know (or at least have a vague idea) whether that good looking bike goes like...

Bike wanted for short fast commute

Yes that makes sense. It was just all the talk about the motor needing to be labelled 250w which made it catch my attention.

    What about facts and figures?

I 'hunt' my 'quarry' using the internet and use facts and figures to find the best. ie I shop on the internet. Ebikes seem an ideal subject for this - motor power, current, volts, max and continuous power, amp hours , weight etc - however this info seems to be very sparse. Having adverts just...

What has happened to the variety?

must admit I'm one of those people who came up with a specific requirement based around commuting. Think a lot of people are looking at ebikes as a way of getting to work without knackering themselves but still getting some exercise and in my case getting there faster than with the car. I find...
