    Fitting 8Fun Movement Sensor

I am considering fitting an 8Fun motor to my tandem. I would be interested in knowing what's invoved in fitting the movement sensor before going ahead. Is it easy? Another concern is the length of cables: I assume it would be simple to extend as necessary.

    Storck Cosworth EFV e-bike launch

Many thanks to Ian Hughes, Andrew Warr, Markus Storck and their colleagues for a most enjoyable time. I was made to feel very welcome and had plenty of opportunity to ride the Storck Raddar bikes. And the Cosworth sandwiches are as good as their engines. I can't comment with the benefit of...

    Cytronex Bikes

Thanks for the replies. Reading your explanation, Flecc, I think I may have overplayed the higher gear = more effort from me = more assistance from the motor. Also, I may not have been too skilful in the use of the hub gears, remaining in a high gear when I changed down because I didn't ease...

    Cytronex Bikes

This promotion of the Panasonic system for hilly country seems to be universally accepted wisdom. I recently tested bikes fitted with this and a with ahub motor, both on the same hilly route. I need to limit the amount of effort put in. It seemd to me that I was more likely to keep within...

    Motor for Tandem

Sorry, perhaps my question was unclear. The idea was to have a throttle and controller on each bike. I would then just have to swap the battery and wheel when I occasionally wanted to use the tandem. Another way might be to use a cheaper, separate complete system (Alien?) for the tandem.

    Motor for Tandem

Before taking the plunge and buying an electric bike, I am considering the possibility of basing the bike on a kit and sharing the kit with my tandem (2 throttles, 2 controllers, 1 motor, 1 battery, ...). The tandem would be for occasional use. The Ezee system seems to be well thought of...

    BEBA electric bike Day

North of London would not be preferable for those living south of London. How about Okehampton: flat, safe off-road along the Granite Way and stonking great climbs onto Dartmoor? Better still, north and south venues.

Brompton Nano Kit - 1 year on

Good morning, Tex. Is the back hub motor the BionX? If so, how does it compare to the Nano? (And what power is it?)

    Torque Sensor v. Cytronex System?

I went for my first proper test ride on an electric bike (Trek FX+) this weekend. This raised a question that is probably obvious to experienced e-bikers, as follows. With a torque sensor, the more effort you put in the more assistance you get – it seemed to me. I need to limit the amount of...

Replacing Second Cars with Electric Bikes

Isn't the saving largely offset by the cost of replacement batteries? I find it annoying that the electric bike industry promotes its products as cheap to run. Even the most reputable dealers do this. " ......... only cost around 5 to 10p worth of electricity to fully recharge a flat...

    Ezee Website Updates

Thank you. That is what I thought. But my opinion is based only on what I have seen on the internet - not on experience.

    Ezee Website Updates

The Ezee kits do look good. However, away from this site, the general impression I get is that Heinzmann are the Rolls Royce (Mercedes??) of the hub motor world. In what ways are Ezee the best, please?

    Storck Raddar / Cosworth News

I don't know about the statistics, but if they go half as well as they look I'd love to try one. The Multitask for me please.:D

    A2B Metro

Many thanks for the quick response. Am reassured. The A2B looks fun too, but my nearest bike shop deals in Treks.

Any reason why you are replacing the Trek, overlander? (i.e. should I avoid them?)

Trek FX + with Bionx drive.

Thanks, Aldby. The cost of batteries is a concern, but if I get anything approaching the 500 charge cycles suggested by overlander I can live with that. You are right, the Trek is possibly not good valuefor money, but I think I'll appreciate the quality of components and local support...

Trek FX + with Bionx drive.

Many thanks, overlander, for the detailed reply. My local dealer has an FX+ in for me to try. Based on your experience, it sounds as though it will be suitable: I'm nearly 11 stone, and want a bike to commute about half your distance - with one significant hill (over 5% for half a mile...

Can anyone advise how many recharges can be expected with the Trek batteries, please?
