Dubious stats ? J, have you ever riden this bike? I don't think reputable companies like Storck or Cosworth would make false claims.....Shame about the somewhat dubious stats and figures in that article. 250w? 100Km range? 2Kg battery?
I do like the design of the battery though. There's work to be done here on nicely packaged bottle mount batteries that fit in the main triangle.
The basic bikes are very tasty if expensive. I do like the idea of a really minimal weight and stealthy upgrade to a good hybrid bicycle.
.....
NRG... There is a very heavy dose of Substance before marketing.
One thing I can tell you is that there will be 1 place for a Pedelec Forum member to come to the Press launch of the new Storck Cosworth bike at the Cosworth F1 engine HQ when we launch the bike. You will get to ride the bike, plus a VIP tour of the Engine building facility and chat with the egineers. We plan to run a competition here soon.
And I'm sure an online website magazine wouldn't just quote figures straight out of a press release thrown together by a marketing manager.Dubious stats ? J, have you ever riden this bike? I don't think reputable companies like Storck or Cosworth would make false claims.....
But then that's not 100km out of the battery as it's not providing assist! The article claims 100km for the battery which is clearly dubious.... presumably and given a fit enough rider, the range could be 100 miles or more if it's ridden above assist, that's not the same as 100km out of the battery. You can get 100km or more out of a 5ah battery: If your motor only gives assist up to 14mph, then you pedal at 15mph, which is not too difficult for a reasonably fit person on a flat test track or road, then you can go a very long way before your battery is flat.
Like all the other claims, the clue is in the words "up to", which means anything from 0 to 100km.
Thanks, yes. I'm happy to post here and love the debate and views. I have been in the Cycle trade long enough and know what to expect on open forums. I'm sure too that now we have a technical partner in Cosworth, one of the electronic engineers will pop on here at some stage and offer their expertise.Bet you're glad you posted now tappy !!! I like the look of it - and gladly will reserve judgment on performance until reviewed. I seem to remember Cytronex and Gruber being shot down on performance claims ---- your prices seem on par with other top end Ebike producers including topend Kalkoffs. Best of luck !!!!
yes your milage would only limited by your fitness !.these sort of figures only work if they are power only without peddlingYou can get 100km or more out of a 5ah battery: If your motor only gives assist up to 14mph, then you pedal at 15mph, which is not too difficult for a reasonably fit person on a flat test track or road, then you can go a very long way before your battery is flat.

Absolutely, if they're as good as you claim they will sell like hot cakes, but until that claimed range is well proven people will remain very skeptical. I'm sure no offence was meant though. Thanks, yes. I'm happy to post here and love the debate and views. I have been in the Cycle trade long enough and know what to expect on open forums. I plan to run a number of reviews and test in the media to give accurate information of their performance. But the bottom line is getting customers on bikes and trying them out. The bikes will do the talking
