New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

Welcome your advice D8veh. That Q100cst sounds like a good alternative to the Keyde, being similar in size and weight. Could I use the little keyde 36v 6.2 Ahr bottle battery with that ? I'm only light....68Kgs. I do a 12 mile loop which is pretty much up and down and I can pedal it all with...

New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

Well guys.......looks like my first venture into Ebikes has been a dismal failure !! Replacement LED didn't help.....motor still dead. Reply from Keyde:- "We judge the triode on the control board is broken, this part is very difficult to change. So you can arrange send the inside motor back to...

New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

I think they probably upgraded the electronics and now have put a sine-wave controller in the hub. My guess is that the brake cutout circuit basically sets the assist level to zero so that the motor stops instantly. Thanks for that Richard........great information....just what I need. Sky...

New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

I put the question to Sky re the motor chime.......this is her reply:- Dear Bill, "That judge method is only useful for the square wave controller, now the motor you have is with sine wave controller. I will arrange to send you a new display first. Cause the motor can run, the rate of broken...

New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

Hi Richard......great to hear from you. This is my first venture into electric bikes, so very helpful to hear from someone with experience of the same kit. Does the chime apply to both front and rear hubs, as I don't recall hearing anything the first time I plugged in and it worked for a few...

New Super Light Tongxin Motor Design/Kit

Having now received my Keyde rear motor kit, I thought I'd revive this thread as two of the posters Tom from Belgium (fa001313) and Richard from Hong Kong (dingrpdc) have had the same kit for sometime now, and I would love to get some feedback re their experiences so far. My first problem was...

Thanks Trex.......yes, I did download the instructions, but they only refer to the motor with BB pas sensor. If the two jack plugs are for plugging into brake levers, then there're no use to me as I'm fitting this kit to a cx bike with STI levers.

Kit arrived today, and you're right Arbol. Long cable connects to battery and motor. the 3rd cable you referred to connects to computer. No instructions, but everything's pretty obvious, but what I can't figure out is where the top two cables go. Do I need e-brake switches for these to plug...

Your right Dave.....no throttle. Mine's the rear drive hub with sine wave controller, pas and speed sensor built in. It's also includes a brake cut-out switch. Sky sent me this photo :- I'm assuming the cable with the green end is it, but have no idea how it connects or works !! Hope it...

Very true Dave. They're asking £780 for the electric kit. I just paid for mine on Tuesday. £328 including shipping and paypal fee. Just received tracking number this morning, and it's in transit via DHL. Mine's only the 6.2 Ahr battery, but still a big difference. I'm fitting mine to a...

    Very lightweight e-bikes

A crank drive is the only option on a carbon road frame with 130mm rear dropouts, but I just don't fancy losing my compact chainset.. There will be new carbon frames coming this year with 135 dropouts to accommodate 11speed cassettes with disc brakes, so will also fit a Keyde motor. This to...

    Very lightweight e-bikes

Certainly a very good price for a carbon road bike, but with sora groupset and the rest of the finishing kit, I would guess it's nearer to 9kgs than 8kgs.

Exactly what I was thinking, so having had it confirmed, it's got to be a no no............not worth the risk. Thanks for your input. Bill

Donor Bike for a new e-bike Conversion

Hi Jerry I'm considering buying a Keyde 36v 250w rear hub motor to fit in a 700c wheel. Could you advise me as to the best RPM to go for ? Thanks Bill

Hi Guys......First post......but been following for a few months, trying to learn about electric bikes, so thanks to everyone for sharing your knowledge and experience. My interest stems from having a very steep hill to climb up to my house. I have some hills on my regular loop which I can...
